Do joint account debit cards say so on them

We had RBS corporate cards at a previous gig and you could distinguish them from your personal as it had the company name under your own name but the team PA had a card for each of us too for booking travel etc so she basically had 14 cards that were identical other than for the number. Given it was for online/on the phone only rather than ever going into card machines she stuck the name on each of the cards.twadds123 said:j813ys said:Or are they a carbon copy of your other single account?
I can't be having to read the numbers to distinguish between 2 of the same card at the till so may need to use another bank?my RBS cards are identical.
To the OP, it varies by bank and potentially by product with that bank. It can be helpful to have different products for the two that can lead to different designs so our joint account with Barclay's is a Premier with a black card and the personal account is just a standard so is blue.0 -
Think our virgin one has separate cards with individual names on. Not that we ever use it.0

I have a number of (dormant) joint accounts with TSB, Halifax and Nationwide. All the debit cards have a single name on them and nothing to say that the account is joint. To the OP, if you have trouble distinguishing between cards I suggest that you put a small sticker, e.g. a coloured dot, on your preferred card or write something on the signature strip.0

Presumably OP's point is that they wish to carry one card from their sole account and (their own) one from the joint account, not two from the latter?born_again said:
Cards have to have a different number, or if one needs stopping it is not possible. As they are stopped by card number.j813ys said:Or are they a carbon copy of your other single account?

The question is why do you have both cards from a joint account? Each party should carry their own.3 -
NatWest Group will apply a card narrative of your chosing to any debit card, we use this to differentiate our joint accounts:

Pretty common that banks use the same colour cards for bank accounts.Life in the slow lane0 -
Put a small sticker on one of the cards with either joint or solo written on it,, (depending on which card you stick it to)It has worked for me for years.0

The question is why do you have both cards from a joint account? Each party should carry their own.I dont think thats what they mean.I assume from the question that they might already hold a solo account with a bank. They are looking to open a joint account as well. They are wondering if the cards will look materially different or if they will have to check the numbers to know if they are paying with the solo account or the joint account. So for my example, i have a solo RBS account, and a joint account, the cards are identical apart from the numbers.I've actually just put a little sticker on the front of my solo card so i know which is which without checking the numbers.0 -
It's pretty obvious that that is what they meant. Someone elses card will have a different name on making it easoly distinguishable.born_again said:
