I have a dg834g modem / router, i have connected it up via ethernet cable to my pc and works fine.
if i connect it to my laptop it works fine.
when i try to go wireless on the laptop it wont work ??
i am running windows xp and when i go into wireless networks it shows 3 or 4 different internet connections,(mine and 3 others that are in the area)
i put in my sidd and the password but nothing it just tries to connect with no luck
i presume my laptop can see the network as its on my list....
any ideas
i did start another thread about this but got so confusing and i got another laptop so thought it would be easier to start again !!

switch off any wireless security on the router and see if it connects and works?0

Try resetting the router back to its factory settings.
If I remember rightly there is a small button on the back of a Netgear router which you need to hold in for about 10 seconds.
Then logon to the router using the default username/password and reset your wireless properties and see if that works0 -

Any chance of using a friends laptop to try to connect?
Also, have you tried doing a 'repair' on your laptops wireless settings. Bottom right hand corner, on the wireless connection, right click, there is usually a 'repair' option to click on.0 -
