Thank you: I did warn them that IQH would be after more money, also that they are likely to be contacted by others as they are probably on a “suckers list”.  So far, neither of the above has happened and it’s been a few weeks now.
They do sometimes play the long game. Even if it's to stop the person drawing (or trying to draw) the money and thereby realising it's a scam and informing others. The longer they believe it's real the longer they will be telling others all is ok.
Probably depends on how wealthy the victim is. If there's more to be scammed, they might allow some withdrawals.

In the US I've heard of long-running scams like this where they extract 7 figures, taking everything they have - pension, sell the house, everything. It's particularly common with crypto romance scams run out of SE Asia, which is a massive industry for the Chinese mafia.

I haven't read through all the pages, but the FCA has this company down as unauthorised, and says "This firm may be providing or promoting financial services or products without our permission. You should avoid dealing with this firm and beware of scams." https://www.fca.org.uk/news/warnings/investqhub-investqhubcom-investqhubco
It would be nice if the FCA was a bit more proactive, but anyone who feels they have been scammed by this or any other firm should report it using the FCA phone number (0800 111 6768) or use the contact form linked to on the page.
  • Update: the website no longer loads and they haven't responded to anyone within the past three weeks. Looks like the end-game, as many here expected.

Sadly it won't take them long to set up a new website and start again. Your family members should still be on their guard, as they will probably be contacted about new scams, including scams involving the promised recovery of the money they have already lost.

It looks like these dodgy characters may have set up another website, Facebook is full of deep fake images of Keir Starmer, Kemi Badernoch and Martin Lewis promoting "get rich schemes" today. They all start with a £250 "investment". These were a regular feature on Facebook until InvestQhub's website disappeared in early November 2024. BE ON YOUR GUARD !!!

Funny how advanced Meta claim their AI to be yet it can't manage the apparently simple task of stopping scam ads using well known faces.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Maybe the AI decides to only stop the ones that pay less ad revenue?

If only they had some sort of way to use humans to check things for accuracy when the AI isn't up to it.
