Amazon Refund

Hey all,
I'm at loggerheads with Amazon and I think they're completely out of order.
I ordered a Google Pixel 8 from Amazon on the 24th of february. However when I opened the box, I was shocked to discover they had shipped Apple Airpods. Unfortunately I bought this using my business debit card as it was to be a company phone for my business.
I arranged for a return on the 28th of february and all seemed OK. I sent the item back by the Amazon returns barcode at the post office (Amazon confirmed receipt).
Now a lot of time had passed where I just assumed this would be case closed. However the phone is now acting up and I was looking to get a warranty repair, so when I went to download my invoice, to my horror the item was still on "we will process your refund when we receive your item". I checked my bank account and the money had not been returned. After getting on to customer services via chat, they gave me the same blanket statement, even though I pointed out I had returned it via their courier.
I've attached the previous status here, but the app now shows "Your item is no longer eligable for a refund":

So now I'm left with paying £1100 for a £550.00 phone? Advice welcome please.

So you bought another one straight away?
Who arranged the return postage? Amazon or you?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)1 -

You said that the phone was never delivered though..............0 -
Need clarity here
you returned the airpods for which you had paid £554.99 but you were invoiced for a mobile 'phone
you then bought a new 'phone on a different invoice
The refund for the non-existent 'phone never happened
Is this correct? Because if so your purchase of an actual 'phone is a completely different transaction and you should not have a problem with getting the 'phone fixed but I'm not actually sure that's your question
Are you asking just "what can I do about the refund I din't get because the item never arrived"?
Personally I would have noticed PDQ if over £500 didn't get refunded to me on time...
then you say 'Amazon confirmed receipt' so they told you the item had arrived at their depot and now they say it didn't? If that's the case then I suspect your problem is the same one again - they were expecting a mobile 'phone ad received Airpods, so 'item is not returned'. Customer services should be able to sort it if you have all your original correspondence0 -
Hi all,
Thanks for the swift responses. I ordered a new phone straight away on a seperate order. I've no concern in getting the new phone fixed as I can go direct to google with the second Amazon invoice. It's what happends to the £550.00 that Amazon decided not to refund me for shipping their airpods back.
The postage was arranged via Amazon, they sent me a QR code to scan at the post office hence, the march 7th "dropped off" status.0 -

You've not got two orders for two 'phones? How did you get two items delivered ( even though one of them was wrong) if you didn't place two orders?0

I'm really sorry for the confusion, but the tag line: "So now I'm left with paying £1100 for a £550.00 phone? Advice welcome please." I thought covered the 2 orders.

Apologies for the typo.0 -
Oh OK we have all done that
I bet they were expecting a 'phone ( remember much of their stuff is automated) and that's why. Do you have confirmation 'item received' after you returned it?

Just confirmation it was despatched, I can't see anything else in my inbox. I'm going to try calling them again today, but I really dont hold up much hope of getting a refund.0
