"Cheap" providers and 03xx numbers
The other day there was a thread (perhaps more than one) about someone not able to use 03xx numbers with a Lebara SIM (see https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6515921/lebara-cant-call-leisure-centre-and-green-flag-0345-nos-ideas-on-alternative ).
Well, I've just tried calling a plain 0330 number with RWG (repeatedly for a couple hours) and they just won't connect (tried with two phones and two SIMs). The number is perfectly OK, I finally called them with yet another provider, so it's something to do with RWG/Now/EE. (If anyone wants to test that number's 0330 5878787 and that connects to the DFDS UK calling centre (or not).)
I have posted a message to RWG re this but I'm not hopeful given recent CS performance.
Does anyone know why this happens and what one can do...? In the end I'm paying them for a service and they don't deliver. What's more I can't be sure this doesn't happen with one, two or hundreds of other 03xx numbers and I may not always be able to use another phone (as I was today).

Just called that number from my SMARTY SIM and it connected just fine. Couldn’t understand a word she said though, I don’t speak French!1

Just tried from EE and Vodafone. Both work fine.1

Folks, as I wrote I *could* reach DFDS via another provider (that was 3) and also via landline, so it was clear from the start that this is RWG's problem (or perhaps, just perhaps Now's as RWG piggyback on Now).
This morning, just for fun, I tried that number again and no change, again with the same two RWG SIMs. I also tried a neighb's EE phone, that worked. So EE (the network used ultimately by Now and RWG) is fine though.
No feedback from RWG, other than an automated message that they will take care of things.
I've been using RWG for about 2.5 years now but I think the time has come to leave them... there are just too many things that should work but don't. Anyway, thanks for the posts.

Still no answer from RWG CS, almost as expected but just tried calling again... and wow, the call connects! Amazing! Unbelievable!
Nope. I've lost trust in them and given other trouble I had, I'll look elsewhere.

Never had any probs with RWG to be fair, been with them about 4/5 years0

I personally also was mostly happy so far, but my wife who started with them a few months ago, had enormous problems. Just check their trustpilot reviews, she was one of the less happy posters.
