Has anyone elsr experienced long delivery dates on orders where a few items were combined to meet the Amazon free delivery on orders over £35.
I used to have Prime membership but did not extend it as I wasn't placing enough orders and did not use any other benefits. I cancelled it when the price increased to £95. I group my items into one order so the value is £35 and eligible for free delivery.
I placed an order for 5 items, each item with a delivery date of 02 August, free delivery on orders over £35. When I paid for the order the acknowledgement showed a date of 15 August. All the items are dispatched by Amazon but they tell me as some of the items are vitamins they have to be specially packed before they are sent out. I ordered vitamins previously and they would be despatched in a day or two. If I order the items individually today the delivery date is 05 August.
I believe Amazon don't want us to combine orders to the £35 value and either want us to subscribe to Prime or pay delivery charges for each item. They don't seem to care about the environmental impact of having five separate deliveries when the items can all be in one delivery or that I would have to be alert to receive a few deliveries instead of just one.

Don't shop with them OP.
Not sure what vitamins you are buying, Lindens are usually a decent price on eBay, the basics we buy in the supermarkets, stuff on Amazon often seems over priced IMO.
That said they do tend to deliver before the ETA, probably one of the items is in an overseas warehouse so 4 will arrive quickly and the other will take awhile.

Then again most of the stuff produced in China is the same, so unless you refuse to or limit your purchases that are Chinese made you'll regularly experience this.
I always try to buy things made in the UK first, Anglosphere second and EU third even if it costs a bit more. The quality is usually higher too.1 -
I buy items from Amazon that I simply cannot get locally. For example yesterday I had a 5 litre bottle of Red Wine Vinegar. The estimated delivery date for that is next week - 7th Aug. It arrived yesterday 2nd.I often see Amazon delivery dates change from the advertised date on the sales page, to a more personalised date in my basket as I’m deemed to be in a remote and rural area.Currently if I try to book a delivery slot on Tesco the first available is 21st August - so Amazon are doing pretty well!1

All the items are available for next day delivery if I have Prime.

I would not buy food supplements that are made in China. All three vitamins are made in the UK and are available for next day delivery on Prime. I expected to have a delivery date up to a week but 17 days is too much. I checked eBay but the quantities were too small. The item location on my eBay is set to UK only.

This is the first time I have had a long (17 day) delivery date on items that are on next day delivery to Prime members. I expected to wait up to a week as I'm no longer a member. I can't afford the £95 fee.0
