So stupidly I transferred my O2 SIM to LycaMobile as they seemed to have better coverage where I am and still offered free roaming.
I initially got a PAYG Lyca SIM to check coverage it was good, so I ported my O2 number in and then transferred my Lyca SIM to a Pay Monthly account - £13 a month for 100GB, for 24 months.
All was fine, it showed correctly on their app and website, but yesterday I got a mail saying my first bill was £15.98! And I have not made any calls that would be outside my allowance.
I went onto the App and my account looked messed up - my plan no longer showed, my allowance didnt show, there were bits missing where there clearly should be information, eg:
"days left until your allowance renews on."
Now I have found the real problem - contacting them! You can't phone them as none of the options let you speak to adviser or you're hanging on with no response; the live chat works but they always say "Sorry this is the PAYG department, we will transfer you to Pay Monthly" but then they nothing happens!
It's incredibly frustrating. I just don't know what to do. My concern in my plan has somehow failed and I will be charged for everything I use.
Any advice here guys...?

hmm - I had problems with a lycamobile sim I bouight for use in Turkey. Didn't work for the first half of the holiday and only contact was via emial - they did eventually sort it to be fair. I assume that as you may be covered by what used to be called the distance -selling regulations?? You should be able to cancel under the 14 day rule and get a PAC code by typing some number or other into your phone... Or give it a few days for them to respond and hope they get it right!

The Tax Tribunal ruled against Lyca the other day, they now owe tens of millions (exact amount to be decided) to HMRC. I can't see them lasting what with the repeat data breaches, poor customer service and slow porting.

Any advice here guys...?While Lyca do appear to be an inept (and some would say shady) bunch there is a good chance your first bill is a different amount due to pro rata charges.
As with most contracts you will find you’ve likely been charged for a portion of this month and then the full next month.====0 -

Let's see -
- Lyca's inability to keep customer's card details to themselves
- dreadful customer service
- poor technology
- auditors refusing to sign off their accounts
- and a recent £50M VAT dispute going against them
if I had a mobile number I needed to keep or my mobile service was essential I'd be checking the competition urgently.2 -

im worried now that I’ll go into arrears and have a bad mark on my credit file for an issue out of my control.
their customer service is terrible, nobody knows what to do.
do they have supervisors who have a better idea?0 -
How long have you left to go on your contract? It may be worth considering trying to get a pac and move to another provider if the early termination fee isn't excessive.
I seem to recall another post on here where someone tried to get a pac by text but had to speak to someone at Lyca. Possibly the action of trying to leave gets you through to speak to someone.
If you get a pac but don't use it within 30 days it will lapse so you've nothing to lose by trying this.
Best of luck.0
