Earlier on you said it is a UK based company. The name you gave us turns up the US website I linked to. Is that the company you’ve contracted with? If so, then small claims court action isn’t an option. If it’s not that company and you’ve paid a different company, then you need to find the UK business address of the company you want to sue.Lookingforhelp101 said:
No, I can't find it. I assume I'm screwed?Aylesbury_Duck said:
You need their UK business address, for a start. Do you have it?Lookingforhelp101 said:What are these steps?0 -
Doesn't every US company trading in the UK need a registered address?0

What was the reson you signed when your son was too young to be considered?Lookingforhelp101 said:Thanks for this. He was 14 years old when he signed up ( he is 16 now) so there has been no work on his profile or promotion of him as a player or candidate yet as he is/was too young to apply or to be considered for any scholarships in the US. The fee I paid was £2950 so not a small sum. They are withholding the full amount as they say it is not refundable as per T&C's
You did have 14 days to change your mind but you are talking about 2 years later.0 -

Are you sure they’re UK based? This outfit? https://www.aca-scholarships.com/They look very US based to me.
What an awful website. Couldn't even find the T&C's on there.

Looks like I am wrong. They are a US company trading in the UK. Do they not still require a registered address though?Aylesbury_Duck said:

Did they? I can't see anything on their website relating to a UK presence.

We signed up because they told us it was best to sign as soon as possible0

I'm clear that the T&C's that I signed at the time have my banged to rights but that is not the purpose of this request for help. I have been verbally misled about the terms and I feel that the fees are excessive in this case and that I would like to know if i have any way to fight this0

5. Action Based Refund Policy – By law you have a 14 day cooling off period which includes weekends on public holidays

Lookingforhelp101 said:We signed up because they told us it was best to sign as soon as possibleI think you're out of luck. From the T&C's you posted, this appears to be a US based company, so laws of the US state where they are based will apply and will have to be enforced in the US.How did you pay?0
