Aldi ones always seem to last. They did well in Which tests too.

Costco, their Kirkland brand batteries are very good
  • I bought 6 CR2032 batteries (Lithium Coin Cells) in Home Bargains for £1.39.
In Poundland they charge £2 for 4.

I was shocked at the price of batteries. I needed x4 RX14 batteries to power a small radio. Cost was £7 from one of our local discount shops.
No thanks. I'll use the mains power lead instead.

It is always cheaper ( in terms of the cost of electricity consumed during use), vastly cheaper, using mains rather than batteries to run 'gadgets'.......

It depends on how long they last.

I bought 4 X Duracell ones from Amazon for a car key. Worked OK but when I came to replace it after a year or so, the other three were dead. I suspect they were not really Duracell.

    B&M sell Panasonic branded AA 30 for £8, and Panasonic CR2032 6 for £2.

I expect they are made somewhere very cheap where they will put whatever label you like on the battery.

However, they can't leak any worse than modern Duracells!

Reminds me, I haven't seen Flying Bomb batteries for about 40 years......
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

There's an interesting podcast on BBC sounds about best value batteries

When I was still working and needed regular quantities of very heavy duty C batteries for fire doors, I found a website called Buy a Battery which seemed excellent, if they're still going.
Signature removed for peace of mind
  • Home Bargains are very competitively-priced on both Duracell and cheaper batteries.  I found the Kodak ones from Poundland didn't last very long
