Flight EZY3235 Edinburgh - Kefalonia 27/06/24

After a long wait this flight was cancelled. There was no support of any kind from Easyjet apart from a text message 'REFER TO WEBSITE'. No alternative flights available or offered. Considerable addition costs were incurred including travelling to London by train the following day and flight with a different airline, plus one lost day of hotel in destination. Easyjet have paid a part ticket refund but have not responded to claim for Compensation which I believe should be £350. Any advice appreciated.

What was the reason for the cancellation, i.e. was it something within the airline's control (which would bring compensation into play) or not?0
-
It obviously was within the airlines control as they have already paid a ticket refund.0

No, it's not obvious at all from that - refunds aren't conditional on airline liability but compensation is, so the mere fact that a flight is cancelled requires that the airline refunds (or rebooks) but that doesn't signify that compensation is due.R38 said:It obviously was within the airlines control as they have already paid a ticket refund.0 -
According to Both& Co. this specific flight qualifies for compensation, although they may say that if touting for customers.0

Well, exactly, so unless you want to sign up with ambulance-chasers like that, for the privilege of giving them a generous slice of any compensation, you need to find out for yourself what the circumstances were - did you specifically claim compensation as well as a refund, and if so, how did EasyJet respond to that?R38 said:According to Both& Co. this specific flight qualifies for compensation, although they may say that if touting for customers.0 -
Did you have the EasyJet App at the time? Delay/cancellation reason typically given. As are often your options.0
