£12.82 spent in Tesco yesterday on small shop.
Mainly on vegetarian bits a small amount of salad veg, veg for dinner and some fruit.
I did quite well with getting stuff reduced and freezing what I could.
I've somehow still to run my freezer down so I can defrost it and give it a quick clean.
Hopefully in the new couple of months.
What's left from last weeks budget is in the bulk fund.Decluttering campaign 2023

550/550 I am just going to scrape in this month by skin of my teeth. I have £20 left to spend on veg on friday. I have full fridge and freezer. Its definitely getting harder to stay in budget. We have veg soup twice a week now and I eat a lot of yellow split peas lentils pearl barley and cous cous with different beans and fish. Hubby is still on his meat and veg diet and young adult eats chicken and noodles and curries. I am not sure how else to cut back but will keep focused with the help of you guys Thank you.21k savings no debt5

@otb666 hats off to you. I really don’t know how you manage with three totally different diets.
I have some small spends to declare from the weekend: £4.39 in Sainsbugs, plus £17.96 in L!dl on Saturday and a further £5.29 on Sunday.
Has anyone else noticed the new “Offers” menu item in the L!dl+ app? It’s the middle icon at the bottom of the app.
That’s where L!dl list their more general, money-off offers. For example, Sunday’s trip was driven entirely by an offer of 2 x 400g cheddar for £4, which is 79p cheaper than the regular 800g block. All you have to do to get the lower price is swipe your L!dl+ app when paying. Unlike their coupons, the offers are available for multiple shops. (I just checked and the cheddar offer is still there, as is one for £1-off Delux Quiche, which we used on Saturday.)
I spent another £1.60 in L!dl yesterday, to take advantage of their 80p/pack iced lollies offer. The above brings our total spend to £108.04/£202.30 leaving £94.26 for the rest of the month.
Meal-plan-wise, I’ve worked out dinners for the next few days:
Today: Baked Camembert with “rustic baguette” free from L!dl. (I use slivered garlic and olive oil, don’t bother with other ingredients)
Tomorrow: HM bacon and onion quiche, accompanied by roasted veggies
Thursday: bagels filled with smoked salmon and cream cheese, followed by Jam Crumblie. (We’ll be at Thursday night’s Prom)
Friday: Baked Feta and Tomato Pasta, using home grown cherry tomatoes. I’ll probably add a jar of salted anchovies.
Saturday and Sunday, we’ll be out
Monday: roast leg of lamb with roast potatoes, onions, garlic and sweet potatoes
All breakfasts are cereal and all lunches are leftovers, either from the previous night’s meal or previously frozen.

22 - yarn
1.5 - sports bra

Good morning all
Many thanks @PipneyJane, I did know about the offers on the Lidl App, but had a busy few days and totally forgot it expires today so shopping today instead of tomorrow.
To be honest I prefer a Tuesday or Wednesday as there seems to be more offers on.
I was not disappointed.
Had YS on sausages, cooked chicken, mushrooms and breaded fish.
Discounts on the cheese (bought 6 packs as dated until November), yoghurts, lollies, ice creams, cakes, quiche, potatoes and sunflower oil.
Free doughnutand Tortilla crisps ( to go with Chilli that I will be making)
Remainder spent on other fish, cereal making products, fruit, veg and washing up liquid.
Total spend of £65.11, bargain.
Also have to report a Y.S loaf yesterday from M and S £1.20
Total spend this month so far £236.48/£300

Not been on the boards for a while but always read this thread. Lots of useful information and some great recipes, thanks all.
Have used the Nimblefins average chart for reference to gauge my spending but just lately have been struggling to keep within budget.
I've just had a look to see if the chart had been updated at all and it has for 2023.
Quite a difference. Now I don't feel as bad.
Would it be possible to change the chart at the beginning of the thread as it might help others..
Apologies for butting in!

Well whoops...looks like I need to rein back in the coffee and lunch spends again.
Just done all my sums for week 3 and groceries are coming in at £95.63 including the Mr T's order that just came this morning.
However lunch and coffee spends are at £66.15 for this week - mostly because I have been buying 2 a day and the start of this week I wasnt feeling very well, so was buying lunch when out and about (in the same place as getting the coffee). So overall totals atm for August are £303.18/£400 for groceries and £162.49/£150 for coffee/lunch.
Will rein it back in this week and hope to do damage control for rest of month. le sigh!7 -

The person in front spent £110 on a large trolley full of junk food, it looked as if a greedy children had done the shopping, grabbing whatever they fancied.
I was pleased with the weekly shop at Aldi at £32, fruit, apples, pears*, bananas, oranges, nectarines, veg, celery, carrots, broccoli, cabbage, new potatoes and sweet potatoes, corn on the cob*, mushrooms*, milk, flour, dates, sunflower seeds, basic mixed nuts, basic salted peanuts, coffee beans £1.99, and a red stickered*, 30% off beef joint*. I have frozen half of the beef joint.
I did a pot roast so the beef was tender and didn’t shrink, and I baked a tea loaf while the oven was on.
DH will get more milk and yellow stickered fruit at Asda on his way home. We bake our own bread, make our Kefir, and have eggs from the hens.5
