Parking Charges while delivering

Hello, I am new here, Any advice will be appreciated.
Got multiple parking tickets while delivering parcel for Amazon flex. The whole area is camera controlled and ticket issued once you parked your car for 1 or 2 minutes to deliver parcel to residents. My appeal got rejected and subsequently appealed at independent appeal services which was also rejected. Just received a final reminder letter from debt collector called DCBL. As I am not satisfied with the independent appeal service decision and do not want to pay for what I consider as unfair ticket. At this point what do I do ?

Thanks

Name of the parking company. ?

    Location ?

The Jopson versus Homeguard appeal covers dropping off and pickups. (  Loading and unloading. )

How many drops a day?   100 x £50 (if paid early) = £5000.  Does this sound right?
  • @Gr1pr thank you for your response and info. The company name is NPC ( National parking control) and the location is Millenium village Greenwich London.
SE10! Any more advice would be appreciated.

    Regards
  • @Half_way thank you for the info. I have read it but not really sure if this case law would apply to my own case as I am not a tenant or resident. However I could see some similarities in the parking circumstances. Any other advice would be appreciated

    thanks so much

You need to contact the property agent (NOT THE PARKING FIRM)  in charge of Millennium Village and explain the issue and that you will have to recommend to Amazon and your employer that they boycott the area if there is no way for delivery drivers to be exempted when delivering parcels.  Ask what happens with Royal Mail and taxis, etc., and ask robustly for your VRM to be added to the whitelist immediately.

Be polite but clear about the issue and that if Amazon and their couriers cannot deliver parcels it is already blighting the estate. It is unacceptable to receive PCNs and this should never happen. There must be an exempt VRM list to cover for this situation.

As for the PCNs, respond when you get a LBC. Do not pay these. Stop bothering with the (perceived as bent) second stage appeal.

See the 2nd post of the NEWBIES thread for how to respond to a LBC from a solicitor and how to win with no risk, when you defend a court claim next year.

Did I say: DO NOT PAY!

@Coupon-mad. Thank you for the response. My problem is that I don’t know who are the property agent for this estate, in fact, I’m starting to get panic as I don’t know what’s going to happen next. Do I have to wait till I am taken to court or I need to reply the debt recovery company explaining why I don’t want to pay? Though, I have already told them over the phone that I am not paying because the PCN is unjustly charged and they said that they will keep reminding to pay until their client take legal action against me. Pls see the recent attached doc for a clearer explanation of the situation. I need advice.

    Regards

The fourth post of the NEWBIES thread explains exactly how to deal with debt collector's letters, but to summarise that post - ignore them.

And then read the second post of the NEWBIES thread to put your mind at rest about the simple stages when DCB Legal get involved.

    DO NOT PAY.

    DO NOT RING THEM.

  • Hello,

To the members of this forum who previously offered their valuable insights into my case, and to anyone else interested in contributing their thoughts:
I am writing to provide an update on the progress of my case. As advised by some of you in our earlier discussions, I have incorporated the legal precedent of Jolson v. Home Guard into my defence in money claim online form. Furthermore, recognizing the significant emotional distress and anxiety this situation has caused me, I have also filed a counterclaim. I am now about to response to Notice of proposed allocation to the small claims track ( Directions questionnaire form N180)
I would greatly appreciate it if any of you who have experience with similar cases, or who possess expertise in relevant legal areas, could offer further guidance or advice as I navigate this challenging process. Your continued support is invaluable.

    Kind regards

    Kay
