Also get put on a list to be removed here if they do it too often.mark_cycling00 said:In my call centre you get out on a special list (colloquially called "the screamers" )
Then calls from your number get routed to a small, dedicated team who are paid to put up with abuse. Longer wait times though
But I'm sure that rep, had far more choice words about that silly customer...Life in the slow lane0 -
I keep getting emails/phone calls from Outfox the Market stating
'Unfortunately, the service that keeps your meter ticking over is closing down (the Radio Teleswitch Service) which means we need to get yours replaced to prevent any issues in the future. We're here to look out for you so want to get your meter(s) replaced as soon as we can. We kindly ask that you reach out to our friendly team at SMS plc who will get the meter exchange booked in for you.'
Is this real or just a scam to get your old meter replaced with a Smart Meter?

It's real. RTS has been long been slated for the chop, although the date has kept slipping. When Radio 4 on Long Wave goes, so will RTS.0

Scam (noun): an illegal way of making money, often by tricking people.
Replacing an out-of-date meter, free of charge, as required by the law, is not a scam.1 -
Getting emails and texts too from EonNext wanting to replace my lovely dial meter.
Have told them if they want to fit a smart meter then they'll have to pay for it to be put in a,n outside box. I don't want it in my pantry

Unfortunately it's not your meter, and requested relocation work like you suggest would be at the householder's expense.gbhxu said:Getting emails and texts too from EonNext wanting to replace my lovely dial meter.

That sounds reasonable and whilst may not be something you can demand if polite you may be able to get them to do as you wish.gbhxu said:Getting emails and texts too from EonNext wanting to replace my lovely dial meter.

I'd suggest asking, rather than telling, because the law says that they get to choose where it goes. Demanding things doesn't get much goodwill.gbhxu said:Getting emails and texts too from EonNext wanting to replace my lovely dial meter.

And even if they do move the meter, they won't redo any of the wiring to connect to your fusebox or to move the supply fuse - so you would need your own electrician to do the first part and the electric board (DNO) to do the second part. Neither of those would be free.1
