Hi All
I just want to have a bit of a rant and this seemed a really good place!
For Christmas, amongst other things my OH bought me some 'mini' branded boot boxes (fits in the boot of my mini) to stop everything sliding around. I had been wanting them for ages but they were quite expensive so never actually bought them for myself.
Anyhow, my OH bought me two for Christmas as according to the picture in the sales book they will fit the boot exactly. What he did not consider was the i have a CD changer in the boot so i cant fit two in i can only fit the one.
Never mind, one is better than none. So today i want to my local BMW Mini parts centre to take the second one back and get a refund (had the reciept and everything)
Anyhow, would you believe it they actually charged me £5.00 as a handling fee to take the goods back. I was really anoyed at this and told them so but apparently it is standard procedure.
Do you think it is worth complaining further and if so any advice on who and how or should i just accept the fact i had to pay a handling fee.
Thanks for listening!

It's not really worth complaining. A lot of companies charge a restocking/handling fee . The other option that they have is to refuse to take the item back as it is not faulty. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Previous poster beat me to it - as they weren't faulty they were doing you a favour by taking them back.Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0

Unless the goods are faulty, the seller has no liability to refund or replace. Rather than complaining, you should be grateful that they've taken them back at all. I'm afraid people are now too accustomed to the High Street stores that do refund and replace at a customers' whim. Once you're away from the High Street, you're back to what consumer law really says rather than what you'd like it to say. You have the choice - you can vote with your feet and don't go back to them again if you are aggrieved at how they dealt with you.0
