    i've looked through so many pages today and to be honest that was one of them :o i thought i was looking for something a bit more more specific to that version... i think i'll give up tonight and star afresh tomorrow

    thanks for your advice and perseverence gaming guy:beer: it might take me a while but i refuse to give up and be beaten:D

    update......
    i'm half way there , i've managed to get one of our psp's connected:j :j :j but struggling with the other, could it be due to the fact it's a jap model

    and here was me thought i was doing so well:confused:

    try getting the japanese 3.80 firmware for it

    if it doesnt work, try setting the IP address manually (try 192.168.0.150 for example). all the settings you need to set it up manually are on the status page of the router

    someone else i have asked has said they've heard jap wifi is not compatible with uk wifi,
    i'm gonna try what you suggested gaming_guy:beer:

    Looks like you will need it flashed with non Jap firmware, because in Japan only channel 14 of the 802.11b standard is permitted to be used. In Europe channels 1 - 13 are allowed. You didn't tell us that one of them was a Japanese import.

    yeah sorry espresso i didnt realise it myself ... well i knew but i just forgot :o with it being a couple of years old..

    whats needed to get it flashed to non jap firmware

    Sorry no personal experience of this but at least now you know why it won't connect on channel 14. gaming_guy may be able to help you.

    Just a thought. Could you enter Japan as the region in your router?

    try what ive quoted from espresso

    log into the router > wireless settings > change country to Japan and the channel to 14.


    if that prevents all the other devices you have from connecting, get a usb wifi adapter and set it to the Japanese settings. to give it internet access just bridge the 2 network connections together

    i think i'll just quit now gaming_guy its too much hassle well at least i got one connected, so if we get another uk psp i can do it with that
