my psp on 3.80 works fine with my dg834gv3 using wpa-psk

untick the turn access control in wireless settings > Wireless Station Access List and see if that has any effect.

in wireless settings make sure that the router has been set to broadcast wireless B & G (the psp only supports wireless b) signals and the Allow Broadcast of Name (SSID) box is ticked and click apply. try connecting the psp's again

the psp is capable of using all the symbols in my encryption

What symbols are these? How do you know that it is? You have updated the routers firmware but you haven't tried using a different key!
 Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:

i'm not sure if this will work, but try running the connection test in network settings > highlight your router > press triangle > connection test

edit: i know this may sound stupid, but is the WIFI switch switched on (near the directional pad and make sure its slid up)?
