Allocated parking

I have moved into a new build estate where instead of a driveway my neighbour and I get two allocated parking spaces each. There are a further three visitor spaces. The neighbours are parking in the visitors spaces. Is there anything I can do ( suspect not ) as it means visitors are unable to park. To all intents and purposes the neighbours have taken possession of four spaces - their two plus two for visitors. I guess I could direct my neighbours to their allocated spaces but I’d rather not, I respect their ownership of those spaces. Life’s too short for parking wars., they are nice neighbours and I don’t want to create unneccessary friction.

You could do various things depending on how much you care.
In various stages of petty parking dispute behaviour:
You could have a conversation with the other residents.
You could ask the management company to write a letter
You could put a note on the cars
You could write an anonymous letter and post it to all neighbours
You could park your car in one of the spaces instead of your space
You could ask the management company to ask a parking enforcement company to manage it and give out temp scratchcard permits for visitors
Personally I would ignore it, but if I had a friend coming to visit I would ask one of the neighbours to ensure a space is free for that day/weekend, and then hopefully come to some arrangement that they can use the spaces but 'dont take the !!!!!!'2 -
How many cars do they have? Unless its three or four there is no problem, direct your visitors to the spaces allocated to them that they are not using, clearly they prefer the others otherwise if they are that nice then speak to them, not sure what you expect people to say...."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "1

perhaps they feel that no-one uses the visitors spaces so it doesn't matter that they park there instead. Are they using their own spaces as well of are these spaces easier to park in?1

What do the titles say about the visitor spaces? In practice I wouldn’t expect more than those being treated as “first come first served”.0
