My Dad has a Nokia 3510i(i know it's old) and when he makes or get's a call nobody can hear him but he can hear them ok.

I have tried the sim in another 2 mobiles and it's the same issue. I have tried calling from mobiles and landines and still the issue persists.

He is on the 1penny network and and there are no reports of any issues.

I have tried calling 1penny but their CS agents don't seem to undesrstand the problem.

Has anyone had the issue with no voice being heard?

Are you saying that with his SIM in different mobile phones the issue is still the same?
Normally I would say try the recorder app or similar on his phone to see if the microphone is working and then try other sim cards in his phone as well as his SIM in other phones.
If the issue follows his SIM there must be an issue there although I've never heard of such a thing.
How about asking for a replacement SIM to check it works and then transferring the number.

Same issue in another old Nokia and samsung phone.
The mobile is 20 years old and no recorder on it or apps.
The sim is the big full sized card so i cant try it in newer mobiles as they are micro or nano sim and micro/nano do not fit in the Nokias without an adaptor.

1penny CS don't open over the weekend and i may not be at my dad's till next Friday so may have email them.

It will probably be a 'combo' SIM, mini/micro/nano, you can press out (and fit back in) the micro and nano sizes.
But it's unlikely that the three handsets already tried with the SIM all have faulty microphones.
Has this fault occurred after at first functioning normally, or always since obtaining the SIM?

Funnily enough I had a similar problem with RWG (also on the EE network) in that I could hear a caller but they couldn't hear me. I blamed it on the weak 4G signal in my house, and I certainly haven't had the same issue when we switched that phone to a1penny SIM and use wifi calling.

The fault only started last week and he has the same sim card for 5 years.

His mobile is very old and is a 2g handset but has worked ok for years even after 3g switchoff.
One mobile we tried was a 4g handset but still no voice heard.

    A bit of an update.

CS were not that good again saying make sure Android phone is updated and on the correct network(was Android about 20 years ago when i got the mobile?) so i again explained the age of the mobile ans that was more or less the end of the call.

I did get a reply a few mins ago to the email i sent yesterday saying that they have checked my Dad's postcode and EE have an issue and have people working at the mast/s. I have checked Giff Gaff (use EE) for service updates and they report no issues so CS agents maybe lying.

I called my Dad and i still cant hear him.

Not much help but Giffgaff use O2 (both are owned by Telefónica).

Yes, I had this issue on Vodafone back in the day when I was on them directly - either the other end couldn't hear me but I could hear them, or the other way round.

Vodafone investigated at the time and put it down to network congestion, advising I restart my phone if/when it happened then retry the call - this didn't entirely work, but it did improve things a bit so, yeah.

You mention EE have people working at your dad's nearest mast/s - depending on how long they've been there, and whatever they're doing, it may well be just the same issue I had.
