Freelance work has been signed off so starting next week for a 6 month contract, can't quite believe things are about to get easier and this should bring me to within 12 months of being debt free.

This month's payday from job will be less as have dropped my FTE but fingers crossed there will be a quick turn round on the billing for freelance work and it'll land not too much into July.

Damn me, the freelance might end up being 6 months on PAYE so I've just spent ages working out where I need to pitch that - and the impact on income & debt.

Upshot is, save less of the additional pay each month and hammer the debt until am left with £100pm on the B/Card interest free until the end of the 0% deal. Having done a bare bones budget, I could get by for 6 months when / if the new contract finishes; my current contract will be ongoing and that 6 months gives me some breathing space to find more additional work. It's a juggle but should be pretty much debt free by Christmas. And by going PAYE, I will benefit from employer pension contributions and paid leave.

My tax will probably be an utter mess though and I may just sneak realms of child benefit claw back, don't get me started on the two adult incomes vs one in a household and claw back…..

2nd job payday lands (it's earlier in the month than other job) so have done some debt payments already - money was only in my account for about half an hour! Once all the DDs over the next couple of weeks have come out, firmly in the 7s for now.

The 7s will be scuppered by an overseas support bill to the tune of €1,700 over the next couple of months but taking this new low as a win while it lasts.

@biggerpickle, please tell me to mind my own business, but what's the overseas support bill? Regular payments or one-off? You're doing brilliantly love Humdinger xx

A family member overseas on limited income - there is no choice, moral or otherwise, in not doing this and the liability is shared with my SIL. Hopefully the 2nd job will help me clear this particular one off bill by Christmas, this is addition to the regular amounts of ~£200 pq that usually comes from my current account.
