Last gap of available low balance transfer card from B to H done.
This means priorities on debt now above making minimum payments on 4 cards and other odds and ends debts:
- balance on H card that was spends before BT (Feb-March pay days)
- full balance on B card so that's almost cleared before end of Jul 0% and then close that (March - Aug paydays)
- full balance on V card - it's not going to be cleared before end of the 0% and then close that - I can cope with some interest to avoid opening any more cards. (Sep-Jan paydays)
- then to the H card that now has just over £3k of low interest / no fee BT on it (2027 😩 paydays)
Oh and make sure debt actually keeps going down, this means summer hols flights will be booked in a month or two so I don't sneak back over that blasted 10k 🤣
I sneaked abroad for a few days to visit the family while teenmonsters were at the exs and get some much needed vitamin D which was lovely but back to reality now.
almost the weekend folks, keep on going xJuly 2024 £12,150 Feb 26 Halifax £3,538, B/Card £3,040, Virgin £2,705, Klarna £227, ACCA £113, Very £66, SIL £68 Total £9,757 2026 and I keep plodding on with this journey!1 -
Bit the bullet and booked summer hols flights as both the orange and Irish airlines had sale offers on the route needed, sorted for just over 300 quid which is great for the summer hols so worth the debt hit. I'll book the local onward travelmuch nearer the time and we'll be off peak travel times each end here.
Gonna be a very tight paymonth this month thanks to clearing the service charge bill, might need to dip into savings but only 25 days til the next pay day 😫July 2024 £12,150 Feb 26 Halifax £3,538, B/Card £3,040, Virgin £2,705, Klarna £227, ACCA £113, Very £66, SIL £68 Total £9,757 2026 and I keep plodding on with this journey!1 -
Was time for the energy switcheroo - the £84 credit on old supplier landed today which means I shouldn't have to dip into savings / EF this month which is a psychological result.
Particularly rough few days, not least of which is a stinking cold, but have sorted out some more money stuff. Did a 0% balance transfer offer from B to V cards which closes a card and I was never going to pay both existing balances before each 0% ran out so this shunts one down the line for another 12 months. This reduces debt plates spinning by 1, only another 7 to go, some of which will also disappear in the next few months.

Have to say @doingitanyway I am very much looking forward to the 4 days DP & I have booked as it's a music festival and we can relive our student days together, albeit at a slower pace now we're both the "wrong" side of 50! He owes me the ticket money but has stuff of his own going on so have told him no rush but that'll be straight off debt when he does.

Lovely DP has paid his half of the festival ticket over, despite this meaning he has to do some juggling later this month so my debt will stay under £10k!!! Yay!!!!
