Anyone else late getting their Octopus bill?

  • Yup ours is every 10th and balance history updated with correct amounts but no PDF sent or showing. Just emailed Octopus support now as waited long enough.
  • Within hours of my email the bill did get generated! But the ai system doing their emails must be a tad slow as only Just received this email response to it...
    "It appears that there has been a delay in generating your bill. We have just generated a bill and sent it through.

    If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know.

  • I haven’t had an electric bill since October and not had a gas bill since March!!! Called octopus numerous times and they blame a firmware issue on the smart meter. Sent them meter readings and my credit was going up and up as they weren’t billing me. Today though I was horrified to see they have charged me £1900 for 9 months electric and 3 months gas (my estimated bill for a whole year of electric and gas is £2000!!!) Shambles from octopus as this isn’t the first time this has happened.

    Doesn't matter what your estimated bill is.  What should your bill have been based on the readings you have given?  £1900?

    My billing seems to be back to normal.Billing period ended 14th, my balance history changed this morning and I got the bill tonight.
  • I read my analogue gas and Electricity (SMETS2) meters on 4th Aug. Gas bill produced 5th Aug and debited. Still waiting for the Electricity Statement (Import and Export) today (9th). Wonder if the common thread in this is Export credit and cash flow? Chased the Statement by email as interested to see Credit amount. Not impressed. 
  • I'm a new customer to Octopus (since March) and was getting bills every week, it seems. Then in July...nothing. I emailed this week and the response was "there was a problem reading my smart meter" - which is odd because the app still shows my daily usage. I've submitted a manual reading, let's see what happens now.

    Is this normal?

    It's not normal. I wonder if Octopus had some sort of glitch late July. By the way do you have an Octopus "Mini"? If so your account will show daily use even if Octopus isn't reading your smart meter.

    But not export 
    Mine certainly doesn't, live use reads zero when we're exporting. But others have said their Minis register export as well, so in those cases it may fill in daily export.
