I agree with everything photome said and of the options you posted - assuming that cost is similar, I think TI is the clear winner personally.
To get an idea about the location of Monte Carlo in relation to the construction see here:

You'll see that the project is pretty much wraps around the hotel. I'm not sure on target completion dates and it is phased so parts will be done before others, but personally would not book MC until I was sure construction was not going to be a problem. You cannot really appreciate the scale of the construction until you see it - it is incredible...you can get an idea here:

Also curious as to why you have to book with Virgin - though it may be you have a special deal where Virgin holidays may be good value for you...but in most cases, they are shockingly expensive relative to what you could get booking air and hotel direct.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

My Husband and me are off to vegas on the 2nd March (leave home on the 1st to travel to London) and direct flight with virgin to Vegas, returning on the 7th (arrive UK on the 8th)
I am SO excited I could scream and run around, lol, but I am a grown up so I show some restraint and will save that until slightly nearer the time
Guess we could be on the same flight VS043!!! We have not booked our hotel as yet. Awaiting Tretts to find me the Wynn at 2/6!!
yep thats the flight!!! OMG!!! I can't believe you havent booked your hotel yet either?! thats very brave of you! _pale_ I simply couldnt leave it late but perhaps if I was a bit more of a seasoned traveller then I would be a bit calmer about the whole experience.
Have you been to Vegas before? Where are you staying? I have square eyes from trawling the internet trying to reading up on everything  , lol.pinkpinkfizz
I :heartpuls MSE0 -
Thanks you two -i will go and read up on those websites.
We are using tesco deals to pay for our trip - hence being limited to Virgin! Prices are coming in at around £1600 for the 2 of us for the week - so pretty steep, but as it only tesco money not so bad:D0 -
Aprilagree with all ferf and Photome have said
but i'll make a case for the other side of the coin and say i would not rule NYNY out by any means. it has a great atmos and location wise is still a pretty good choice IMO but out of the hotels mentioned i think the best choice is NYNY or TI .i doubt you will dissapointed with either.
i don't know what Monte Carlo was thinking planting Diablos restaurant right in front of their front door. but it looks totally out of place and ruins Monte Carlo's entrance
how the Trashy castle (aka Excalibur) get a 4 star rating i'll never know. if anything it seemed to be even more trashy than the last time i visted it. and Crispy cremes wasn't worth the walk this time.
i used to be negative about the Luxor but a lot of people say the rooms in the pyramid are one of the best rooms in vegas for the price
just a word on what i saw of the city center project , it is going to be HUGE  . the construction was in full swing while i was about. it will be awesome when finished , but for know looks like what it is ....a giant building site . from what i gather late 2009 for completion , it certainly didn't look like it would be finished by this NovBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
MayTretts dont knock the Luxor. Think we will be staying there about $300 for the 3 nights. In a towr room.on

Do you know that if you book that offer you have to pay the total upfront and it is non refundable. Thats fine if that is where you want to go and are happy with the price0 -
Great thread, brilliant information. I'm planning on as part of this cruise (http://www.1st4cruising.com/specials_45.phtml) and needed some tips on hotels. We've been offered an 'upgrade' to the Luxor but i've been warned off it.. originally they offered Stratosphere.. glad i've looked where that is on the map now - heart of the strip; i don't think
Thanks for the great post0 -

It seems the best price around at the moment. We will keep looking for a bit but that does seem to be value for money.Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -
Dont even go near the Excalibur. Stratosphere is too far away from anywhere. Luxor is nice. Hilton had queues to check in the longest Ive seen anywhere.illegitimi non carborundum0

Stratosphere - heart of the strip ! I'm amazed that travel sites can get away with saying things like that. Have they given you any other options? Other than Luxor, I mean? What's the upgrade price for Luxor? Depending on what the upgrade price is, you may be able to find a hotel on your own for less than the upgrade price...then take the room at the Strat (as it looks to be included in your cruise anyway) and stay elsewhere. You could also then check out the Strat to see if it would suit you for a future trip. Some people find it OK - I wouldn't stay there myself, but others would.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
