:xmassmile Hi, we're due to be in Vegas on Christmas Day, and I wondered if anyone had any recommendations?
There will be 3 of us, including a 10yo, we're not veggie, love our food, and are not restricted (too much!) by a budget.
Thanks in advance!0 -
I don't have any recommendations (try Tripadvisor) but whatever you decide-give them a call several weeks in advance and BOOK a table !!!I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -

Most restaurants will have a special Christmas menu.
This is info from last year which might give you some ideas where you want to consider once this year's menus are available.

I agree with duchy - book at table. Christmas may be a slow time in Vegas, but everyone will want a Christmas dinner (including a lot of locals who would rather have someone serve their family than to cook all day)!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

We spent a Christmas day in Vegas a few years ago (2002?). We went to the Carnival World buffet at the Rio. There was a long line, but it went quite quickly. We did a buffet because we couldn't agree on what we wanted to eat and that seemed the easiest option. It was maybe $2 or $3 more than the usual price.
To be honest, I think it tends to be busier around Thanksgiving.
Also, the USA doesn't have Boxing day. The sales start on the 26th and everything is back to business as usual.0 -
SeptemberI'm sure there was also someone on this thread last year who ate at Top of the World on Christmas Day, although I can't remember who it was. I've eaten there and it would depend on how much more the price was for Christmas Day for me to pick somewhere a bit special.
I'd be pretty happy to eat anywhere on Christmas Day, but definitely book a table in advance. I'd maybe consider something close to where you're staying so you don't get tied up in taxi lines, and I'm sure they will "up" their prices on Christmas Day, the same as here.
Remember Martin's advice if you need to call abroad to make your reservation.

Thanks in advance! The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

The only heli tours that stop in the GC are not worth going on, the landing of helicopters in the Grand Canyon national park is not permitted so you woudl be taken to GC West which is not in the GC nat park and certainly not what you would be expecting to see. This is where the skywalk is which is an impressive piece of engineering but the natural beauty does not come close to the GC Nat park South or NOrth Rim.Its Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time0 -

I don't think any helicopters land at Hoover Dam, although I could be wrong. I also searched the internet too and couldn't find anything. Most of the GC trips go over Hoover Dam and Lake Mead, but they don't land there. For Hoover Dam, I think you pretty much need to go by bus or car.Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0
