Cancelling-I'd email so you have a record of it -and ask them to acknowledge the cancelation.
Price-matching I would call as prices can change so quickly and the price may have gone up by the time they get around to processing the emailI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Hi All
Whats the best way to cancel a hotel booking (now booked a cheaper one).
Also if one now has a better rate, do I have to call them to change or can it be email?
Thanks
If you booked on their website, most sites have a the option of cancelling under "my booking" or something similar, otherwise I would ring them and get a ref number. Again to get a better rate, ring them using the international call checker, sticky at top of home page.0 -
MarchPity. It looks as though it runs only to end December..........
Tickets are probably only on sale until December...the show should run for years with what they've spent on it.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
MarchI'm trying to decide which hotel to book - we're going 9th to 15th September. I'm currently thinking move hotels after 3 nights because the weekday/weekend rates are so different.
Here are nightly the rates I'm getting at the moment for a few of the hotels.
Bally's:
50, 50, 50, 140, 140, 50
Like Trets said, I'm a Bally's fan. I would go with that one myself.
Harrah's rooms are tiny...tiny, tiny, tiny. I like the casino though.
Luxor is OK - pyramid rooms are quite dark and at least some are pretty worn. I hear the tower rooms are brighter and a bit bigger but have only stayed in the pyramid.
Monte Carlo is surrounded by construction.
I wouldn't stay at CC unless it was free and even then I would probably pay to stay somewhere else.
Excalibur was fine for us and we would stay there again if Bally's wasn't an option, but would pick Bally's for location alone.
Never had any desire to stay at MGM or NYNY.
Bill's is normally good value from what I hear, but as the rates are more than Bally's, I would think Bally's would win.
If you do choose Bally's, try the $20 trick for an upgrade to the North Tower - the rooms will be much newer. The South Tower rooms are quite worn - so I guess that would be my only warning about Bally's...the room should be quite large regardless which tower, but if you end up in the South Tower, the room might be a bit shabby (clean, but shabby). So depends on what is important to you.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Just noticed the exchange rates.
Can't believe its gone so far down in just a few weeks or so.0 -
Thats the thing with the exchange rates........if you would be gutted if the rate fell, change your currency then.....the guttedness from seeing the rates then rise would be less than not changing and losing out.
Last year, I bought at 1.98 which was I rate I didnt want to lose.....didnt want to see it down to 1.90. It went above 2.05 at some point, but it could have easily gone the other way.
Those people that post in the USD$ thread "should I change my money now.....will the rate go up or down".......if anyone knew the answer, they wouldnt e on this forum, theyd have made a mint and would be blowing it on the slots in Vegas or on a cruise ship.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
SeptemberI was going to buy at 1.97 but i had a few weeks and wanted to hold out to see if it gets better. I feel gutted now, im going in 10 days and from what i've been reading it's only going to get worse....Undefeated Wii Fit ski jump champion!

MarchI know - I walk by an exchange place on the way to the Tube every day and almost fell over when the sign said $1.86 yesterday! Can't remember the last time it was below $1.90 there.
We have some dollars left from our trip in June but now I'm wishing I'd topped that up before now. We still have 2 months, but I hate the whole uncertainty thing - buy now? wait and be happy I did? Wait and be disappointed I did? Ugh. Must update my budget spreadsheet to take into account the new expected exchange rate.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I'm in the same boat. Either buy cash now, or leave it in savings and set up a Nationwide account to get the VISA rate by withdrawing money over there. Not sure what's the best to do.0
