MayHi all. Back after our visit to LV. Ended up in Redhill [Gatwick]hospital for 9 days [not the happiest of hospitals]
Glad you enjoyed it all pinkpinkfizz and enjoyed your trip report.have been trying to keep in touch and up to date. Did not see you on the aircraft going!
Main points was we thought Bills was great! Food and drink most inexpensive. and signed up for players card which gave a lot at 'Rio'.
Glad that i hired a car, cabs become expensive. Deuce bus is cheap but oh is it slow and packed.
Red Rock canyon was amazing, so was the Dennys breakfast on the way, although I did not think they would let us leave just wanted us all to keep talking. Very cheap full brekkie!
$20 trick worked at the Luxor, given a suite with view.
Very disappointed in Virgin, ran out of Spirits less than half way over, and listening to others it happens often. Sadly think that Virgin have let their standards slip these latter years.
Though TI's show a bit sad, preferred the old show.
Bellagio buffet a bit disappointing whereas the MGM buffet was great. Told the Sea food buffet at the Rio is great but we had eaten out by then.
Well thats a bit, really enjoyed it all, except the end.
Hospital trip was bad heart which i have had for 20 years and lack of Oxygen on the aircraft coming back. The rear of the aircraft has less oxygen than the front!!Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -
MayHope you are OK now. 9 days is a long time to be in hospital.
Glad it didn't happen over there, could have been expensive. Out of interest, who do you have your travel insurance with as I'm always interested in who covers pre-existing conditions?0 -

If you want to ignore christmas, Vegas is the place to do it. I was there last christmas and apart from a few trees, you wouldn't have known. Its pretty cold, so bring warm clothes.
The queues for christmas dinner buffets were massive, so we went to TGI's for lunch and booked a table at Top of the World for dinner, could only get 10pm though!! There are also a lot of Oriental people there over christmas. I found a lot of them very rude, they walked into me and didn't as much as look at me, never mind apologise. One man even spilt my hot chocolate over me after banging into me, then just PUSHED me out of his way.
Rooms are pretty cheap over christmas too, we got a 750GR suite on Mandalay Bay for about $165 a night and a suite in the Venetian pretty cheap too. I phoned Mandalay and cheekily asked for a discount, they gave me $50 a night off right away!! :beer:Undefeated Wii Fit ski jump champion!

MayJust seen you signature PandaPants.
We have so far stayed at the Sahara, Imperial Palace (several times), Aladdin, Caesars Palace, Venetian, Planet Hollywood (3 times), Bellagio.
From Thursday we will be staying at the IP, MGM, IP again and Palazzo.
I have no notion to stay at all the hotels on the strip as there are a few I just don't fancy. However I would like to try the Wynn just to see what it's like.0 -
Can anyone tell me will my Hair Straighteners work in Las Vegas. I took them on a Med cruise before and they only heated up very slightly. I will be lost without them if they dont work . Never been to USA before so sorry if this seems trivial to some.0

MayWell I know my heart pretty well by now [had it all my life]
Seriously I take out a normal Insurance because i would never get cover with my ticker, or if i did it would be astronomical. And i know what is happening to me and hope to rely on Airline getting back to the UK. My heart problem is quite slow and I know when its happening. This time picked up a bit of an infection. As well!! I have about a week before it gets serious!Hope you are OK now. 9 days is a long time to be in hospital.
It was in that hospital!! but nursing staff second to none.

It's nice to see some favourable reviews for Bill's Gambling Hall and Saloon, I booked 3nights there on the Tripadvisor reviews and was hoping it's ok.0

What I have seen recommended is to go to CVS or Walgreen's on the Strip and buy a cheap pair of straighteners there. From what I've read they're about $20-30, but can't swear to that as I haven't checked.0 -

My sig is misleading.. :rotfl: I want to stay at all the strip hotels that i WANT to stay at, if you know what i mean!
I really don't fancy IP, my friend described it as the Butlins of Vegas.. :rotfl: Also don't fancy TI or Monte Carlo, although i don't really know why. We are staying in PH this year and i can't wait!!!!I've wanted to stay there since it opened!
Has anyone had any luck with the $20 trick in PH? Or is it worth offering $50 for a really good room? I get all embarassed when i do it... :eek:Undefeated Wii Fit ski jump champion!
