Can you get an angle grinder in the gap and cut through the tang to minimise damage to the door carcass? Then you would only have to replace the lock fittings.

I have had the repairs carried out and given a months' notice with the option of waiving some of the notice period so any other work can be carried out.
Sadly, I'm being held to the notice so does this mean I do not need to give the keys back until notice has passed?0 -
Yes, if the LL wants their rent, you're entitled to use the house until the last day of the tenancy. Theoretically at 11.59pm but you might want them to sign for the keys earlier.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

Just to close off the thread. Landlord inspected and is happy with the condition of the property = full deposit returned. I genuinely appreciate everyone's input.11
