    Afternoon everyone.

Wasn't intending to spend any money on housekeeping until next week but last night on my app Lidls' offered £5 off if I spent £30 before Sunday, so had to be done.

It's quite difficult to spend £30 in Lidl's when you are up to date with the shopping, so bought a few staples which will see us in to next month.
    Toothpaste and washing up liquid.
Body wash for the D.H. 25% off (not included in the budget)
    Cheese, Marg, and various tins.
With all the discounts and the £5 voucher came to £25.36 housekeeping.

Yesterday I had a loaf of wholemeal from M&S YS. 46 pence.
Rarely buy bread as we tend to use the bread maker.

Update so far for this month is £193.80/£400

We went to Lidl's on Tuesday and spent £52.00 - we had aimed to spend £45 to £50 so we were close but no cigar 😉
DH was sent to find our freebies and got a very nice low GI bread, an enormous carton of orange juice and a massive bag of assorted crisps which we will pass on to the GKs.
    £128 remaining
  • Afternoon, all visited Tesco and Lidl today, adding another £87.01 onto this month's spend.

I brought, diarrhea tablets,  indigestion tablets and painkillers for our holiday.. I'm looking forward to it, honest :D I've never needed to use them but I'd rather be prepared  especially abroad.  Also brought 3 Robinsons squashed to take away so we can drink normal squash and reduce the kid's wanting fizzy pop all the time.

Camping wise I've got things for a bbq and breakfast so far.  Trying to resist bringing too much food  with us as there are two supermarkets locally . Hoping to have about £60 to take with us.

    New totals

    £687/ £249.84
    1. Petrol £180 / £47.37
    2. Food/Cleaning £350 /£141.60
    3. Camping food £100 / £21.96
    4. Toiletries £57 / £38.91

A £4.41 spend yesterday on salad vegetables in Tesco.
£10.02 spent in Morrisons on frozen fruit, extra salad, bananas plus some fresh fish and a tin of budget tuna.
Edit to add that I've changed my mind about fish after trying the fresh fish and will stick to being vegetarian.
It was a disaster cooking it and have a ruined baking tray. The plastic the fish came in say's it can be cooked in has melted onto the tray.
Plus I am morally struggling with it along with the smell of it.
I will rehomed the tin of tuna.

I agree with @TravelCrystal.  Definitely make a list, @carboot_karaoke.  You can stock up on toiletries, cleaning products, coffee, tea, flour, rice, pasta and tinned vegetables, all things that don’t need to be refrigerated.

Had another shopping delivery on Thursday which came to £100.33 and probably half of that was for entertaining over the weekend.

I may end up with extra butternut squash to plan for this week as the recipe we're making for dinner tonight asked for a set weight of bns but you could only buy them online by the individual squash so I over-ordered in case I got tiny ones. It's happened before when I ordered a red cabbage to make coleslaw for a big party and got the tiniest cabbage you've ever seen in your life when normally they're the size of your head and ended up having to go out to buy another one. Online grocery shopping is very convenient except when it isn't!

I'm up to £190.57/£300 for the month now but I'm hoping to not have to spend too much next week and use up what we've got.
