I'm just trying to provide an input for forum members.
Perhaps you can make more of an effort to expand your horizons ?
How about some more ideas from you ?
But look at the manner you have approached the topics from the beginning. It is there on this very post for all Participants to see.

These are some of the comment you have made to date:-

" No......I'm sure you are capable of checking on discounts yourself. I've got better things to do. Good luck."                   THAT WAS YOUR OPENING COMMENT

" That's not restricted to pensioners so doesn't qualify for this thread."

" It's not a reminder......It's a new requirement from you. It wasn't mentioned in your opening post."

" Perhaps you can make more of an effort to expand your horizons ?"
" How about some more ideas from you ? "

You said " I've got better things to do" yet you are still here "

Do Analize your input above ................................. what does it say ..................

I have created this post with the First entry about the Bus Pass and it is my task to nurture this post and encourage participation from newcomers who have things to contribute in a "POSITIVE COURTEOUS MANNER", and offer thanks to them plus add additional information which I know of first hand relating to things like U3A, the food Warehouse etc.

So as I have said before, be constructive.

Check your local cinema- they may have a seniors daytime screening which will be a tad cheaper than the evening shows.
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

  • It was sad to hear that the winter fuel annual payment will not be given out to pensions who previously got them,  unless they are now also on benefits  :(
  • Does anyone know if under this thread's brief "

FREEBIES that pensioners can get who cannot get any benefits as they have 16k or more in savings. ",

If there is any scheme for these group of pensioners to get a discount to replace our own Homes Gas Boiler ?
  • Just came across a Specsavers discount:

If you’re over 60 and buy a single pair of glasses from our £70 range or above, you’ll get 20% off. That includes frames, lenses and any Extra Options such as treatments to protect your lenses or offer sun protection. All our glasses include a scratch-resistant treatment as standard. Plus get a free NHS-funded eye test.

If you are married and one of you earns/pension altogether is less than the SIngle persons allowance, you can transfer upto 10% of your allowance to your partner, so you can take home a little more before paying tax.I know this is valid for the 20% tax payers.
