Hey guys.
So I have received a Final reminder out of the blue through the post a few days ago from Excel. It states already too late to appeal and £100 charge going up to £170, if not paid by tomorrow 26/06/24.
The ticket was for parking in Iceland car park for 14 minutes while driver was shopping in Iceland (bank statement available to prove transaction time).
The driver has done this for years, there at the local Iceland store, without any issue. But apparently there is a new camera system etc... and you should pay £1 and claim it back at the till.
Driver was not aware of this.
What should I do? Do I have clear ways to avoid this robbery?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Have you read the newbies thread?
Have you appealed to the landowner?
Have you appealed to Iceland?3 -
A common arrangement for some Iceland stores recently
Complain about the PCN to Iceland, with proof of patronage and get them to cancel it, plan A in the newbies sticky thread in announcements1 -
Hi.
I called Iceland the first advisor seemed helpful, and asked me to send over details of my argument, pcn number, bank statement etc... which I did. She then said she would forward this to the relevent department and Im still waiting for a response.
That was Wednesday. I chased up on Friday and spoke to another advisor, who said parking tickets are nothing to do with them. I politely explained that I wasn't asking for his opinion and that this was already being dealt with by the relevant department, as per my case number. But still awaiting a response.
I forgot to mention I have received no prior Notice to Keeper or anything else.
I think I read some of the newbies thread. Could you direct me?

Yes, I found it. And I did read it while I was awaiting my account to be approved.0

You should be complaining in writing, not telephoning people, write to Walker himself if necessary, or use social media, be forceful, plan A , a written complaint to Iceland
Excel are not going to cancel the PCN otherwise, nothing you do will change that fact, other than getting the dog to wag the tail2 -
Well I did email everything over to the Iceland advisor. And she said she would forward it to the relevent department, and a case number has been provided. Does that count as complaining in writing?

In the email, I also explained the drivers argument. Shopping in Iceland, loyal customer etc..0

So wait for the reply, hopefully a cancellation2 -
Ok thanks. Is pointless writing any appeal to Excel before the 26/06/24, when it goes up to £170?0

You could bung in the blue text appeal seen in the newbies sticky thread in announcements, appealing as keeper
But no further involvement with Excel or the IAS , only with Iceland for now
The charge never goes up , its £100 forever, they may add spurious debt collectors letters fees of say £70 , but its all made up figures that are rarely allowed in any court claim, they are regularly thrown into the nearest bin
Its a £100 default tariff charge, never changes2
