Following on from my 13th payment project (  https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/80737194#Comment_80737194?utm_source=community-search&utm_medium=organic-search&utm_term=13th+payment+ ) here is a list I've been working on for longer.

Building Societies:
Beverley
Buckinghamshire
Chorley
Darlington
Dudley
Earl shilton
Ecology
Family
Harpenden
Leek
Leeds
Loughborough
Manchester
Mansfield
Market Harborough
Marsden
Melton
Monmouthshire
National Counties
Penrith
Principality (they do have a first home app, stadium apps & have had a kids Dylan app)
Progressive
Scottish (they have a home/mortgage app though)
Stafford Railway
Suffolk
Swansea
Teachers
Vernon
West Brom

Other:
Aldermore (there is a motonovo app though)
Cahoot
DF Capital
Investec
Kent Reliance

Might be of use to some people if thinking of applying for accounts with certain companies that prefer using apps for things.

I prefer a mobile friendly website shortcut on my home screen to having an app installed on my phone. That way it's not using much space, doesn't need updating, less likely to crash, etc.

There is always the alternative of tablets with bio security app access ( finger print reader). Vast majority of my banking and investing  apps ( HL & II ) are  accessed via Samsung tab S7, which I also use to generally browse the Internet & online shopping.

Hardly ever fire up the laptop these days.

Tablet is lightening fast to 'boot up' , much easier to read, and less likely to lose or damage since kept at home.

Websites, with all the bother of logins and passwords, seem very last century by comparison.
  • Family Building Society, had a 120 day notice account with them last year!

Horrible user experience on mobile, half the page cut off! Tedious to use! Zooming in/out!

    Banking apps every time!
Open in seconds, automatic updates, everything at your fingertips,
keep all Banking apps together on phone!

Although it would be a prime target in a burglary. All other advantages you state are available on a sub £100  smartphone, e.g the Moto G32.

Bad eyesight precludes reliance on the phone for anything other than basic phone related stuff.

The 12 inch tablets give me  phone app functionality, easier to interface with the large keys and  to read in the large format, but perhaps this is an 'old codger' requirement 😇

Manchester Building Society is on the list, but it is pretty much defunct. It was rescued by Newcastle Building Society a year ago and hadn't been allowed to offer new mortgages for years before that; and no savings accounts have been available for opening since it was taken over. So I'd suggest you could remove it.
