We specify to leave by back door if not in which is through a gate not far from front door, but apparently that is too much for them.
Even had an argument with a DPD driver when I asked him as he was walking alway (not having waited for me to answer the door) why he hadn't waited for an answer, or even just left at back door as specified, if he was in a hurry. He threatened me with not delivering my parcel next time and just taking it back to the depot saying 'undeliverable' if I made a fuss. I made a fuss. They confirmed the delivery instructions and said it wouldn't happen again, but it still does.
Some drivers leave the parcel in our neighbour's outdoor store, again without knocking - we are almost always in due to disabilities, but at least it's safe in there, I suppose, although we don't know the neighbour well, he seems like a nice guy and wouldn't steal a parcel, but the driver doesn't know that. A family member's neighbour used to take in parcels all the time and deny they were delivered to him, but that was way back when they didn't specify which neighbour took in the parcel.
I understand that the drivers are under huge stress and pressure with a high workload, but surely the company loses out if they don't deliver safely?

I might have just seen a miracle in operation Evri just waited for me to open the door before walking away- that's a first ! It was a new delivery person, using a private car rather than the usual man in a van, so he's almost certainly new to the job and hasn't worked out that he has to get away before the door is opened.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Delivery driver pressed our ring doorbell yesterday, asked me where he should leave the parcel as I wasn't in and the delivery instructions said 'shed next to front door'. I told him the shed to the left of the front door... His reply; " It isn't a shed as its made of plastic so I was confused"
Another one rang me (mob was on the parcel) asked where I wanted the parcel left, I told him, he said he couldn't deliver it as they cannot take verbal instructions.
They wonder why they get so many complaints.2 -
There’s no point complaining about the delivery service whilst, at the same time, demanding that it is as cheap as possible. We can have service or cheapness, but not both. We all know that, so why are there these long threads complaining? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
