Shawbrook Bank - Unable to withdraw

the ones able to withdraw money are because they had their nominated accounts verified when they opened their Shawbrook account.
It's ages ago that I opened my first account, but I thought that verification of the nominated account was part of the account opening process, and that the account wouldn't be opened until the nominated account was verified?
Corrections welcome...And i notice someone above saying to click on the square options in the top right of the screen. That definiitely sounds like you have a different portal than i do. Mine has a horizontal menu with requests in the center with no option to withdraw only to show pending.
Are they perhaps looking at a mobile view, rather than the full desktop site?0 -
@Barkin You are correct. From what I understand accounts were verified upon opening. But for some reason and it was confirmed over the phone that it is now showing as un-verified for what ever reason. When I view my account information though all seems to be correct so there was no way of knowing this.
Now from what I understand from chatting to then on the phone this wouldn't usually be an issue as they could verify a nominated account on the phone when requesting a withdrawal but at the moment their system used to do this isn't or hasn't until now been working so customer with still verified accounts have been able to withdraw where as, like me, the ones whose nominated accounts show un-verified are unable to with no exact date of when this will be fixed.
When I was rung back yesterday from the request I put in Tuesday I was told that there was a delay because they didn't want to ring before they could give me a reason to what the issue is and how to resolve. Which seems to be to send a secure message asking to update the nominated account details which I have done so I will update on Monday when I am being rung again of the progress.

Has anyone here actually made withdrawals with Shawbrook over the phone?
is it straightforward?
are you on hold for ages?

Here's hoping everything is sorted soon.
I've logged on and chosen to have the cash automatically paid out to my linked account, on maturity.
Hopefully, that will go through without any problems. Matures on 6th July (a Saturday), so will probably pay out on 8th or 9th.How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)1 -
I thought I'd give an update on this so, after more phone calls I was offered £75 if I close my complaint being told that my withdrawal was a priority. I agreed and was told it would be the end of the week for definite.
The next day I get a secure message saying my account was verified and I could withdraw. Logged in and yet again no withdraw or close account options. So I ring up and tell them I want to close the account as I'm not going through all this again to which the operator says she has to put me on hold. 40 minutes later nothing.
I ring the FCA and open a complaint. Within minutes of him saying they had sent an email to Shawbrook the withdraw option magically appears. Next day money appears in my Barclays account. So 7 working days, 10 in total to withdraw.1
