    You weren't fined

    Take relevant pictures of entrance and exit, signs, anything else that may be useful for your case

    There are no witness statement templates, only examples by other victims who have come here for assistance, like you did

    Study any recent cases that are close to a hearing or have been discontinued, especially those in the discontinuations thread by Umkomaas, start at the end of his thread for the latest cases, over 420 in there

    Do not use anything older than this year, so only 2024 cases

    Pics of whole areas with no signs is most important.  Get several like that.  Signs obscured by foliage? Dirty or hidden signs.

    Recent WS which won in 2024 include:

    @kgirl123

    @Defendant911

    I've started drafting up the WS. Should I wait until we're near the 14 day [before hearing date] deadline to submit it incase DCB Legal send theirs over to the court/me first? Giving me a chance to answer any of their points etc. in my WS?

    Yes, and of course the opposite is also true... you don't want to send you WS early as that will allow the Claimant to challenge all your points in their WS.

    Might be a daft question but to whom is the WS sent to?

    The letter "Notice of Trial Date" didn't specify email addresses of the court.

    It does say WS needs to be copied to the other party so for DCB Legal I can use the same email addresses that I found here on MSE Forum and sent the Defence statement to:

    response@dcblegal.co.uk
    info@dcblegal.co.uk
    ellen@dcblegal.co.uk
    dpocontact@dcblegal.co.uk

    Not dpocontact

    paul@ works

    jamie@ doesn't cos he has resigned, LOL!

    Google or phone for your local court's hearings email.

    Just to clarify - when it's stated that WS are due 14 days before the hearing date, is that 14 working days or non-working? My hearing date is early January 2025 so just trying to factor in the Christmas holiday period.

    I'm hoping to post my first draft of the WS here tomorrow or Monday.

    Thanks!

    Those '14 days' aren't qualified at all. Fourteen days is fourteen days.

    Yes it did. Read it again.
    I can see enquiries.oxford.countycourt@justice.gov.uk in there.
    Remembering of course to send a copy of your Witness Statement and evidence to the Claimant too.

    From DCB Legal this morning:

    "Our client has instructed us to discontinue Court proceedings and close our file. Therefore, please find enclosed the Claimant's N279 Notice of Discontinuance for your records.
    The attached has also been filed with the Court.
    We will now proceed to close our file accordingly."

    Do I need to do anything in terms of replying to them and cc'ing the court to accept this discontinuance PDF?
    I had spent around 15-20 hours drafting my witness statement and was actually going to post it here today for your feedback. I'm just glad it's over!

    Had to send a screenshot of the win to my brother who recently caved in and paid £100 to Euro Car Parks!! 😡

    Thanks once again for all your guidance. Genuinely appreciated.

    Yay! Well done. You won! Nothing needs doing.

    But to stand up and be counted so that your success is included in @Umkomaas thread please show us the attached NoD.
