    @Gr1pr @KeithP @Coupon-mad DCB Legal and have been trying to phone me. Missed it the first time, second time it started with a recorded message which I put the phone down to thinking it's a scam call (was half asleep). If they call again, what do I actually say to them? I've read that they call to settle, but what's actually said in response on the call? If they ask why I won't settle, what's said to them without sounding impolite, saying the wrong thing or risk winding them up which makes them see the hearing through?
    Why would you want to be polite to someone who is only out to scam you out of your money? They have one single purpose and that is to get any money they can off you. If you actually talk with them, they'll negotiate down to £25 in the forlorn hope that you are low-hanging fruit on the gullible tree and will cough up your cash for their scam.

    If you're too vulnerable to someone trying to rob you then block their number or simply don't answer. If you have a teeny bit of courage, tell to go rotate on a sharp stick. Anything else and you will be marked as a mug that is likely to capitulate.

    Ignore them and they will discontinue and move on to their next victim in the hope that they are dealing with a gullible wallflower.

    Be as rude as you like. Tell them to get lost and hurry up with the discontinuance.

    @Coupon-mad I've been abroad so likely I've missed all their calls and they've gone straight to voicemail. I received the attached now. This is normal?

    Received the attached email.

    I've redacted some information to avoid exposing any case details that could be found from this thread.

    @Coupon-mad
    @KeithP

    Do I need to reply and tell them I don't agree, or do nothing and wait out?

    Already answered minutes ago.  We don't need to see anything that is covered in the first 12 steps:

    Posting as update.

    Received below letter a  few days after the settlement offer email shared previously.

    As per the process, I'm continuing to do nothing.

    Its not a case of doing nothing, you must follow the process, the 12 steps and beyond, keep following them, stage by stage , filing or doing as required

    My bad @LDast - thought I'd keep other newbies posted on progress for a real timeline of events since I and others can never really find the correct 'first 12 steps / template newbies thread'. The link shared above took me elsewhere.
