  • I've only just switched to Barclays (switching service completed today) and they've taken my first payment of £5 for this scheme. Do I have to wait until I receive the £175 switching incentive before I cancel my Blue Rewards? TIA.

Personally I would wait as it makes no difference if you close the BR now or in a few weeks time, just need to do it by 5pm ( I think) on last day of month.
    Let's Be Careful Out There

Worth noting that all Premier customers are now eligible for Barclays Cashback Rewards, including 1% debit card cashback (capped at £5/month) until the end of November:

(The offer also works for anyone holding on to Blue Rewards until the last minute!)

Thanks for flagging this is blue rewards only. Disappointingly, I received the email saying I was eligible, but I am not blue rewards anymore. They really shouldn't keep sending emails like this - quite misleading!

These things get queued up many days in advance. Quite usual - normally there are boilerplate warning that marketing materials may be delivered for a short period.
  • Barclays Blue Rewards is still open although they said it would be closed by Barclays on the 4th of Sep for Premier customers. I could close it myself, unless there is an advantage in keeping it open for the rest of the month?

Interesting. No advantage in terms of benefits as you are entitled to all the things Blue Rewards gets you without charge via Premier.

If I were you I'd leave it, and if I ended up being charged again submit a formal complaint given it was specifically communicated that it'd be closed on your behalf again.

When you say it is still open, do you mean that the wallet is still showing? The blue rewards wallet won't disappear as it's used to pay all of your retailer cashback rewards into, providing you have signed up for them.
Not saying that this is the case, just asking.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.

Yes the Blue Rewards wallet is still showing as open and it was for (loyalty) rewards only. The "Cashback Rewards" is a separate account showing in my app, and that's for cashback.
  • Has anyone with their Rainy Day Saver unsubscribed from Blue Rewards after September 4th?

If so, have Barclays advised when they'll downgrade the Rainy Day Saver?
