  • Evening all,

Yesterday was a fairly miserable day so l took myself off to bed for an early night.

Seemed to have done the trick l woke quite bright at 5.30am, went to the gym followed by a decent commute to work.

I have just booked me and hubby part 1 of our anniversary celebrations a mini break to Greece. Just the pick me up l needed, expensive, yes, indulgent, perhaps but sometimes you just need a treat.

  • Today has been good, caught up with my best friend who treated me to lunch.

So far, February has been a no spend month apart from the gym which is good value for the amount I've used it recently (we'll see how long it lasts)

The hairdressers emailed me back apologising for the mix up and will arrange for a £9 refund. I also had a little savings interest which id like to save or overpay. But l feel like l should hold on until we know the costs of the rental maintenance and the holiday.

  • Evening all,

It's been a miserable wet day here ☔️ . I ventured out for food shopping and the school run but nothing else.

I treated Mr CK and l to a two dine in meal from Asda, we dont celebrate valentines but the meal was good value. £12 instead of £27.97 for the selection l picked.

We've officially reached the point where l can start Googling the weather forecast while we're away, currently days 27 degrees 🌞. I've ordered the last few bits, mosquito plug in, and a book for young CK.

Trying to decide on when to tell them were going...Mr Ck believes we're going to a lodge on the 15th so that's the last available date It will be a surprise. He was moaning about the fact he's had to alter his work around this morning so l thought maybe a few extra days notice could be useful?

I have a few holiday relevant gifts like books, and clothes that l was going to wrap up and hide. Then write some clues to send them on a treasure hunt culminating in finding out were going on holiday. I suspect the thrill of running around the house for clues will be more exciting than the discovery of the holiday 🤣🤣

  • It really is @beanielou

Thanks @vcash and what a wonderful surprise for your friend 😊

The weekend came and went, it was a busy one but l did manage a trip to the gym and library with the kids.

Cant believe i'm on my last full week of work for the month, I've felt very organised up till now, but now l feel like I've got 100 jobs to do and only a few days to do it in 😱. I was up till 10pm last night cooking lasagnes x 2 one for next Tuesday so l don't have to think about pre holiday food and the other for the end of Feb or beginning of March. Mr Ck thinks i'm crazy, but thankfully lasagne is our "go to dinner" for the first day of a UK holiday so l explained my actions away by saying its to bring on holiday with us.

We finally heard back today from the estate agents regarding the maintenance costs another £286 to be paid out 🙄but in truth l was expecting more. I feel a bit nervous about the rental atm l think three separate issues back to back might prompt the tenants to leave. Although we have dealt with each as quickly and responsibly as possible. They have a rental agreement in place until June 2026, however due to the renters reform bill this wont be valid from 1st May. Having said that they will still need to give two full month notice so hopefully our income is protected for a few more months.

The estate agent is going to pay the tradesman and deduct from next months rent, so l have been able to make another OP, £100 regular payment plus another £800 from the rent received this month.

New Balance £19,700 😇so exciting to see a new number at the beginning !!
