Its definitely been a waste of money the last two months 🙄 . Holidays, illness, lots of other excuses has prevented me going. But I've still been 49 times in the last 6 months.beanielou said:Time to cancel the gym?
What l really need to do is get back on it 💪I feel so much better physically and mentally when l go regularly. Plus when I used to go in the daytime it stopped me going shopping, actually money saving 😄 .
My afternoon has been the opposite of money saving, our youngest needed school shoes (announced last night when the shops were shut) so today afterschool we went and brought new shoes, new boots, two jumpers and underwear. I did at least find a voucher to use saving 25% still £70 spent. This will come out of the "kids pot".
I'm itching to make our first October overpayment just waiting for Mr CK's money to arrive in our joint account on Wednesday. Im hoping by the end of the month our mortgage will begin with a "2" 😁

Afternoon all,
I'm in good spirits despite waking up at 4.30am 😳 and failing to get back to sleep followed by a miserable commute. Maybe its the three coffees I've drank already 😉.
I'm in a "get things done" kinda mood. My work colleague has just shown me how to back up my 1000's - not exaggerating 😱 of photos and videos from my phone to my goggle account (current time until completion is 4 hours 52 mins). I know the rest of the world did this 100 years ago, better late than never. This will allow me to clear them off my phone so it works faster and if ever l lost my phone l will still have the memories 🥰.
I have also made a interim payment off the mortgage of £750 so its a nice round £32,000 remaining.
Also paid £60 off the CC to bring the balance to £2600.
Have a good Tuesday x

Evening everyone,
I come bearing exciting news 😊after yet another terrible commute yesterday my boss actually suggested that l WFH on Monday's, at least until Xmas.
I'm probably delusional about of all the things l think i'm going to get accomplished 🤣 I think l still need to be in the office on the first Monday of the month for month end things but l am delighted. I can use the time saved on my commute to crack on with my payroll course commencing in November.
In other news l just made my final October OP of £300.
Total for the month £3150 New balance £29,600 😇
Have a good evening.

Evening all,
Why is it when your breaking up from work you have to work the hardest you've ever worked 😅. Today was crazy busy but I'm finally home fed and watered contemplating the week ahead.
I have a few weather dependant NT visits planned (our membership expires next week) and a long list of jobs l need to complete. But after the month ive had l think a bit of a relax is also in order.
I also confess that I had a look at some winter sun holidays leaving next week. I was surprised at the reductions (I'm normally a book ahead kinda girl) . Hopefully the same will happen at Xmas or Feb half term so we can get away.

Morning everyone,
Feel like its been ages since we've had a proper catch up !! As I've mentioned before life has been really busy the last two months. But hoping for a calmer run up to the end of the year.
Half term didn't quite go to plan managed to injure myself 🙄on the Saturday they broke up and have been hobbling about ever since. Had to cancel my lovely NT walks replaced by, overpriced, crowded, indoor inflatable venue. Kids were happy though. Also had to buy CK3 new school shoes and new jeans and l treated them to a Wetherspoons for dinner. All in about £150 spent out of the "kids pot".
The sitting down recuperating time did allow me to look back at my 2025 goals
* January 2025
l set a target to clear £28,000 off the mortgage ✅ Achieved in September 😊
* May 2025
Following the Tenants rental extension l changed the goal to being mortgage neutral (owing 6k) by June 2026
currently on track 😊
* July 2025
I wanted to earn £1 a day up to the end of the year 153 days away at the time. l listed more things on Vinted last week sold five straight away another £49.60 = £192.60 /153 ✅. I'm going to keep going I want to use the money to pay for the extra items you need for a holiday like travel insurance, taxis to and from the airport.
*September 2025
l set myself the target of getting rid of one personal item each day for the month. I managed to clear 12 items before l got consumed / distracted by other things. I have brought 6 needed items since then. But yesterday l cleared another 15 items overall 27/39.Just 12 to go.
Pretty happy/surprised at the progress. Sometimes we spend so long looking forward we forget to look back and reflect.

Having said the above l think a few more clear goals until the end of year will keep me on my toes 😉
* Nov/Dec jobs
Payroll course - should be easier with WFH most Mondays they say allow 9 months to complete but I'm hoping to finish by the new tax year . Quite ambitious considering l haven't even taken the books out of the box in the last month !!.
Mr CK and my self assessment. Really dreading this jobs 😫 its the first time l will need to declare the rental income. Ive got all the receipts and paperwork but l have to get into order and crucially onto excel.
However, the huge incentive to completing it by Xmas is knowing how much tax we have to pay in January. It turns out Mr CK has a nice pot built up in his business account which I would like to divert 🤫 towards our mortgage or the holiday fund.In other financial news l joined top cashback and opened a Santander current account . You get £20 cashback for opening and £100 amazon voucher once you make 30 debit card transactions in 60 days. But the main reason l opened it is because there is no need to switch bank accounts. I'm going to set up a few direct debits like my 85p phone bill & charity donations in the hope l can use it as a vehicle for switching to other accounts offering cash incentives next year.
Also just made our first OP for November another £2,300 off the mortgage. New Balance £27,300 😇
And another £50 off 0%CC New Balance £2550
Have a good day
