  • Afternoon everyone,

I think my radio silence sums up the kind of weekend l had 🙄. To many long and boring stories so ill skip to the main points.

In my one a day challenge i'm up to 12/33 decided not to keep the Matalan trousers so month target is down to 33

Another 8 items went over the weekend (3 onto Vinted, 4 Charity bag, 1 bin)  it's actually quite hard,  l tried on things l haven't worn in ages, then convinced myself that I needed them 😕. I've nearly exhausted my easy picks. The hope is that I'll change my mindset during the month.

Sold another item on Vinted for £5 plus l found a £1 on the floor so put it into the jar £134 / £153 so close ☺️

I have my second dentist appointment tomorrow I've sorted out the pin on my 0% CC in readiness. I've just about got enough to cover it if l empty my reserves but l feel more comfortable paying it over a few months. There is still the outside chance works health insurance will contribute.

  • That really is amazing progress. What’s your target date? I need tips on the Vinted front. Or maybe just some energy to list things 😂

  • Thanks @ladysummerisle

My target to mortgage is neutral is June 2026.

At that point we should owe £6k, offset by our contingency savings so not costing us any interest.

The mortgage product we have is pretty fab so we are not giving it up early. We may even reborrow money on our mortgage to fund a deposit for another rental. But not before we build up some savings and have a holiday 😂

The Vinted sales have surprised me to be honest. I don't do anything special other than try and present the item nicely ie washed and ironed, with lots of pictures etc.

Having said that l read an article on the web yesterday about a women who made 6k in a year 😲. Her tips were to...make sure the item was clean and as described, post quickly, wrap the item nicely, she included a written request for a 5* review (she has +500 of them) and lists a few items daily. She was retired 🤣

  • Evening all,

I have submitted my claim form for the dental treatment l paid for this week l paid some cash but put £200 onto my 0% CC. The new total is £2675. Not going to worry to much about this debt as l have until May 2027 to get it paid. I will try and chip away as and when l can.

Feeling a bit meh 😒 today. Maybe it's the weather or the fact l haven't been to the gym this week. It might also be because l have nothing exciting planned for the foreseeable future. This is not like me at all, normally id have an Easter and possibly a Summer holiday booked. A show, a concert, something !!

I don't mind admitting that the last 5 months since l decided to get ultra focused and put every surplus penny against the mortgage has been tough at times. But the fact i had things planned and paid for during that time has made it easier to say, No when temptations arise. Now my savings pots are depleted and our end date is still 9 months away. I do still have the "unexpected money " ive received from various places, refunds, savings interest, Vinted sales etc. I need to add it up and get a plan to use it to see us through to June.

I read that article! Pretty sure I’ve seen her on other stories around debt etc. Maybe she gets paid?!

Who has time or money to buy shiny envelopes and put some sweets in?!

Haha, yeah, exactly,  maybe a marketing ploy paid for by Vinted 😉
