Opening an ISA with Lloyds.
I tried to make an appointment with my local branch, and was informed I had to apply using my “mobile device”.
I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue as there is no mention of this requirement on their website.

Yes I was told this when booking an appointment to open an account for my aunty using power of attorney ( I have done in branch before). Can't open online using power of attorney so had do so via phone banking which was an absolute nightmare. I despair!!0

What is so inviting about the Lloyds ISA?

You're not able to open it via browser based internet banking or its website?NotRichOrFamous said:I tried to make an appointment with my local branch, and was informed I had to apply using my “mobile device”.

There seems to be an issue if you want to open it under POA

The OP made no mention of POA. In which case, online (no app required) is doable.friolento said:wmb194 said:

Thanks for the replies.
I was trying to get an appointment to open a fixed rate cash ISA for myself.
The reasons I chose Lloyds is that I have no accounts with them, so I will get an extra £85k of FSCS protection along with the convenience of access to a local branch.
I can’t be bothered to open yet another online account that will hardly ever get used.

What's the difference between opening this account online or in a branch? Open it online, it matures after some time and you move on.NotRichOrFamous said:Thanks for the replies.

But I enjoy the in branch experience, and it gives me the opportunity of detaching myself from my computer screen and getting out of the house.

Santander were happy to make an appointment for me this morning, so I will be depositing this years ISA allowance with them.

I was going to suggest a local building society with a branch, but as you are now going to Santander it's moot.NotRichOrFamous said:wmb194 said:
