They were happy to close my account via messaging.

I think MSE or Martin should look into this a I do think this is breaking their promise. Virgin Money might be another brand but it's still owned and under Nationwide. If the terms state that having a nationwide curent account makes you ineligable to get this savings account at Virgin I feel like that is a clear breach of their claim. That indeed is offering a brand new customer only savings account and punishing loyalty.
They can't turn around and say well Virgin is a seperate thing but then in the terms mention Virgin and Nationwide.

apologies if this has already been posted - just opened a First Active account and interest rate is now 4.55%

@soulsaver - Re: First Active Instant Access Savings Account… the above is correct, but it doesn't just apply to new accounts as the rate on my existing 4.50% has also been increased to 4.55% AER.
There has been no change in the Saga Savings rate - that is still 4.50%.

@soulsaver - Monument Welcome Saver - 4.51% AER; ** New Customers Only **; Monthly Interest; Matures 12 months after opening into a Easy Access Tracker (Base rate - 0.50%).
Note: Min Balance is £25,000 combined across all Monument Accounts - though I think if you have £10k in an ISA with them, this balances isn't necessarily enforced (or hasn't been for me)… DYOR!

Just adding for clarity, it appears to be App Only (AO), I believe.

The Virgin Money 5/09% interest account -
Would I need to use the current account or can I just keep it open?

T&C just say that the CA must be kept open.
I've had VM savings accounts for years, the CA has a quid in it and hasn't been used at all since opening.

I'm tempted but it's limited to £10k. Also yet another current account open.

I can think of easier ways to earn, what will be at most, a couple of ponies.
