I’m only questioning it because it doesn’t sound right to me and I want to make sure it’s done correctly.0 -

but as you have not been given the name of the creditor, I don't see how you can name that creditor in question, thus the only way I see it is to put down " unknown creditor"
doing so means you are still not admitting to the debt and hence covering yourself from any admissionChristians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. Give them a call !! ( You don't have to be a Christian ! )

Hi all
after sending a reminder to these I never received a reply.Skip forward to today and I’ve had a text come through from Restons saying “hi, we’ve recently wrote to you regarding an urgent and important matter and we would like you to get in touch. Please get in touch so we can agree a fair and appropriate solution. You can self serve for the portal”
there’s a link attached but I haven’t used it.
I should clarify, I haven’t received any communication from these other than the text message.
Any further advice on this please?0 -
Not altogether much of a surprise, they don`t like dealing with disputes.
Well you tried your best didn`t you, I would not give it any more thought, only thing that actually matters is if they try to get legal with you, they have to send a letter before action, which gives you a 30 day response time, and a chance to tell them its likely statute barred, I believe that was the initial assumption at the start of this thread??
Nothing else matters, not their texts/emails/calls, only respond if you get an LBA, let us know if you do.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. You’re correct in regards to the statute barred. If I do receive a letter is it a case of send ing them a prove it letter?
also what is an LBA please?0 -
Reston`s are a firm of solicitors yes.
They act on behalf of many of the large debt purchasing companies, you should actually write to whoever owns the debt, I forget now who you said that was?
LBA -as I said in the previous post is "letter before action".
If they send one, you can tell them its statute barred, but only worry about that if it happens.
