wife and I work , we are not full time but we still earn above the EAT, we are about £1550 month , we were recommended to make a UC claim.
Google search shows as we above the EAT limit we are not required to increase our hours or earnings.
the UC is only worth about £15 a week.
we made claim on Saturday, it shows on our journal we are not required to seek more hours or increase earnings.is this normal.
is this right, we just continue getting the £15 a week until we decide to get higher paying jobs till we no longer entitled to this amount.

The current AET for couples is £1,437/month. You will be in the light touch group with earnings above that amount.
UC is paid monthly, not weekly. If your UC entitlement is quite low there maybe some months where it will be reduced to zero. Remember, UC entitlement is based on earnings received each month.https://www.gov.uk/guidance/universal-credit-and-earnings0 -
we checked, we won't be in any categories that have to job search, as we are earning more than enough according to citizens advice website
If your combined earnings are more than the joint threshold, neither of you has to look for work even if one of you earns below their individual threshold.
so I assume this little top runs indefinitely, does that mean you get prescriptions and dentist free and cost of living paymentsChristians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. Give them a call !! ( You don't have to be a Christian ! )

Cost of living payments? There's is no further payments so no entitlement.0 -
I mean if we are earning enough which we do and not need to be higher earners searchers, then how long does this UC run forChristians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. Give them a call !! ( You don't have to be a Christian ! )

It's paid for as long as there's entitlement.0

You need to submit details of your income capital each assessment period.
If your income/capital details indicate you are eligible for a payment you will be paid for that assessment period.
You will need to complete this process for each assessment period for your claim to continue.
It will continue as long as you eligible.0 -

Capital only needs to be reported if they have more than £6,000.0 -
I have one part time job , wife has two, we are above this earnings threshold,so we are not in the job search category, so I assume it runs until we reach pension age in 11 years, if we are still on it.Christians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. Your entitlement will be calculated each month on the last day of your assessment period. A couple of days later you will receive your statement and on there it will tell you what elements you're entitled to, what your earnings were, the deductions for earnings and what (if any) your entitlement is for that month. Any money will then be paid into your bank on the same day each month, unless payment date falls on a weekend or bank holiday and then it will be paid on a Friday.
You said your entitlement is only £15/week but UC is paid monthly. Even so, that's a small entitlement so there maybe some months where there's no entitlement, depending on how often your employer pays you.1 -
I like to work things out weekly in my head, hence I wrote £15 approx,
I get paid every 4 weeks, wife gets paid monthly on the 1st and 10th in her two different jobs, my point is so this benefit is just at a little extra for us and we are not in a group that has to job search, eg the fully unemployed or those that earn below this threshold.
the claim pack online says expect a phone call to wife on Monday or Tuesday, why is that, no call for me though
it's just that my hours dropped at work on Thursday, wife's are still the same, so was recommended to use entitled2 website and we run a calculation and it showed a small UC money, so we claimed on SaturdayChristians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed.
