Thanks @boingy I had wondered about forgetting the ISA, requesting withdrawal, and adding to my premium bonds.

If all else fails, I may just consider transferring to another company and see how that goes.

    Thanks for the input.

To which provider are you attempting to transfer?

Assuming that the sort code for your Virgin account begins 05, have you actually  ensured that YORKSHIRE BANK is now written

as the existing provider on the transfer form?

When we called at the BS last week, we did stress that they had to give the code, beginning 05, and Yorkshire Bank.

Not sure whether they realised the importance of this at the time.  We're calling in again this morning, will update when issue resolved.

We have now received the fourth rejection to transfer my ISA from Virgin!

The letter received from the building society we wish to transfer to, again stated - 'no reason given by Virgin'.

I phoned Virgin who (after waiting ages on the phone), again tried to blame the BS for not stating the code.  I know that they did.

I have a complaint listed with Virgin, but believe you have to wait for 8 weeks before requesting help from the Ombudman.  Is there anything else I can do?

    Thanks for any advice.

If you've not already tried, then perhaps try transferring to a different financial institution to see whether that succeeds. I know that you'll then have to transfer again to the one you actually want to go to, but hopefully that will prove easier than Virgin with it's myriad of differing sort codes/locations.

Ask Virgin Money to tell you exactly what was on the transfer form. I suspect the BS are getting it wrong, despite them stating otherwise.

    Thanks @Notepad_Phil and @Beddie

The latest failed transfer form was definitely filled in correctly, I saw the form and confirmed all the details.

It might be an idea to try transferring elsewhere.  The original idea was to amalgamate a couple of ISAs to make less paperwork.

    Thanks for your input.

Yes, you saw the form, but it may have been keyed onto a system then sent, so I would personally ask VM exactly what they received. But I also understand if you've had enough of the whole affair!

    Thanks for your input @Beddie

When I was speaking to Virgin Money yesterday, they suggested that the building society send the form manually, and also gave me an email address which they could use to contact them about the issues with the account.

Following this, I phoned the BS, and received a standard message that they would phone me back.

    They didn't!

I expect they are as fed up with the affair as I am, and can't say I blame them.  I have to go out shortly, and wondering about trying a transfer somewhere else.

Would you consider trying an on line transfer into YBS?

As I recollect, the drop down menu on their transfer in form  actually differentiates between the various Virgin brands.
