We use garlic water, boil 3 x bulbs of garlic, cut in half in approx 2 litres of water, strain and mush the garl flesh through a sieve. When cool, pop into a jar/bottle etc  add about 100ml to a litre of water and spray or water can your most precious plants.

Works for us - Cheap, Not toxic and the hostas and roses love it 🤩 also it’s anti fungal
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Feed the birds every day, especially Blackbirds and Starlings. They will also eat the slugs, they love them!
No slug problem in my garden, it really does work 👍

Given my tips at the start but -
I have hedgehogs. The deposits used to be small but there's a couple of massive ones in the vicinity :o
I'm thinking one very fat hedgehog this year.

Also feeding small birds the rare? Sparrows have cleared my hedge of box moth and roses of greenfly...........worth the price of seed to tempt them in.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

  • I have been doing regular nightly patrols of my garden for the last few weeks. When I started I was getting at least 50-60 slugs every night. Now I'm down to around 10 per night so it is making a difference. The later the patrol results in more slugs. I reckon I'll be almost slug free by Christmas !
