August Beach holiday-Short flight and not too hot

Stockholm Archipelago - we went in August 2022 and it was hot enough to be swimming in an outdoor pool but not too hot. If you stay on one of the islands it's easy to get in to Stockholm central on the tram system for the attractions there as well. No issues with language and pretty much cashless these days. Not particularly expensive other than in the middle of Stockholm at well known restaurants.0

No unfortunately but the views over to Eriskay stay with you for a long time.I did plant a couple of Cotoneaster plants in sheltered spots, would be interesting to see if they survived.NoodleDoodleMan said:Eldi_Dos said:Barra, lovely beaches and you get the excitement of landing on the beach.
Had a lovely couple of weeks there once, always wanted to go back, you do not get fresher seafood than at source.Did you unearth any of the legendary whisky stash from the shipwrecked SS Politician reportedly hidden all over the island ?That would make a return visit attractive !!!

If you find a good deal don't forget to try the "Beat my Quote - Travel; Agents" Thread where agents like me can book the same holiday with the same tour op for less on most beach holidays - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/509598/beat-my-quote-travel-agents-thread/p1236I am a Travel AgentMy company’s ABTA/ATOL numbers are G9172/6053. MSE doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it. You can check my ATOL with the CAA. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Travel Agent Code of Conduct.0

A former work colleague was a Barra man - being Catholic his family were not constrained by the strict religious mindset of most of the other islanders that forbade them joining in the salvage work past midnight on the Saturday.Eldi_Dos said:
