Much better.  On mine i put the 4pm on 7 June 2024 in BOLD. When you email them make sure to put both the courts claim ref and the solicitors claim ref also ( they should still be able to locate with just the court ref, but then again most of the companies are staffed by monkeys sitting behind computers)
Thats so great to hear! Thank you!

By courts claim ref would that be the DCBL ref number found at top of the right of letter and obviously the claim number a few rows below?
DCBL is the solicitors ref, the courts ref is usually a mixture of letters and numbers ( Eg. HY6GH9C8).

As mentioned put both of them, in case they are really dumb and try the excuse of we weren't provided with our reference, so couldn't locate the file this relates to, bla bla bla.

P.S - I can appreciate that this whole process can seem daunting and very stressful, and a lot of the posters can come across as being abrupt. I got my backside handed to me a few times in here as well, however each time was due to me not researching the Newbie thread properly and jumping to conclusions. So it is imperative that you read as much of it as you can ( long process, especially with threads pointing to other threads - the rabbit hole goes very deep). But make sure to familiarise yourself with all the posts about CCj's, how to prepare for your day in court, etc. Do not skim read, take you time and make sure you read each thread from start to finish.  With regards to preparing witness statements read all of the threads, but use the most recent exemplars (mine being the most recent at the moment). Most important make sure you are understanding what you are reading and why certain statements, examples and precedents were used and how that would apply to your situation.  This wont be a 30 minute job, so prepare to have a couple of busy weekends researching as much as you can ( I would suggest a nice selection of cheese, cold cuts and a glass of wine to help with this).

Also i have a thread with a youtube link which gives a generic overview of the CCJ set aside process. Dont use the templates he suggests as they are old, but the video does give a good general idea and should give you a better understanding.
Thank you so much for your detailed and kind reply!

I will do my best but im absolutely dreading the next step as im a seriously busy man working continental shifts and have a little girl I have to look after when im not at work. This seems like it will overwhelm me to the point I feel suffocated as I found this part hard enough trying  to navigate and understand how this all works. My girlfriend would never be able to handle this either so its all on me unfortunately. I was wondering is there anyone you can pay to help you with this sort of thing if it gets too much?

    Thanks again

A lawyer or similar could do so but not cheap, litigation is never cheap or uncomplicated, as you will find out if you bought a house, so the B & Q diy method is usually taken using free advice from volunteers like on here

If she had come here for free help when it all started then the current circumstances could have been avoided, especially if she had updated her V5C promptly etc , and if the claimant had taken better steps to trace her etc , but the main culprits are the idiots who told her to ignore it, I assume that they are not helping her now, because we all are ( ask stupid people and you get idiotic and foolish advice. )

But we are now unravelling a tangled web to try to turn the clock back from the current untenable position , back to the actual court claim point

Yeah we are certainly very regretful to be at this stage. Unfortunately she cant even find her v5c ive told her to search the house top to bottom to get it changed. Otherwise its going to be applying for a new one with new address which says it takes up to 4 weeks. Im absolutely swamped lately im actually contemplating needing to pay someone to help. Looking at what needs done im afraid that I wont have the mental capacity nor the time to sort this for her

Actually ive just realised shes got a different car now to what she received the fine for. But besides that we could still get a renewal sent out to her old address (her mothers) then just use that one to then change address on it

If she sold the old car then its not really relevant now, just that she was the RK at the time, which I don't think she is disputing

Just ensure that the current vehicle has an up to date V5c , the address can be any serviceable address, including her mothers, but she needs to ensure that she gets the post regularly, to avoid problems , especially if its not her current address

Her driving licence must also be up to date too

Yep if she sold the car she can't change the keeper address on it, but she could add a sentence to the email, about the fact that she could not possibly have changed the DVLA address on her old car's V5C because she had sold it, thus the fault for the use of a very old address lies entirely with UKPC for not doing a 28 pence 'soft trace'.

    Remove this:

    "to instruct a solicitor"
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

What it says, Confirm her identity by email ( not by phone. ) , without giving extra data away, so no photo ID, They are just following data protection rules and laws, its a reasonable request ( I am surprised that you had to ask us , its common sense. )
