I'm dying of cancer

I read somewhere a great quote, it was in an article by a terminal cancer sufferer, though she had quoted it from someone else herself.
It went along the lines of....
'Don't let the fear of dying rob you of the beauty of living'

Please don' take any of this the wrong way. I am only trying to answer this as best as possible for you.
Is the cancer 100% terminal? There is no chance of beating it?
The reason I ask is that you could sell up and rent meaning you have £X amount of money to do with how you wish but obviously it all depends on how much you could get and how much you owe. However, if it is beatable I wouldn't want to say yeah sell up then you beat it and have to end up renting!0 -
I too have a "terminal" cancer, so "they" say. My plan....1) enjoy life 2)enjoy friends and family 3)dance more 4)dont listen to "them". I plan on hanging around tooth and nail until a treatment or cure is found. I dont think of it as living for 20, 30 more years-with my cancer that is impossible. I think of it as hanging out for 2 or 3 years more until a better chemo combo comes around which gives me another year or two until something else develops. That way I will squeeze 20 to 30 years out of this beaten body.
Everytime you turn on the news, there has been one more advancement. Yes, your cancer and mine might be "terminal" now, but that means nothing if you can hold on long enough until something better comes along.
What I am saying is have a wonderful life. Spend money. Enjoy. My pyschologist said the most amazing thing to me when I was stressing about cancer and death. She said "If you have only 3 months left, you have wasted your time worrying. But worse, if you have 30 years left, you have wasted a lifetime."
So no financial planning from me, just hope and hugs.A woman is like a tea bag- you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water. --Eleanor Roosevelt0 -
I've been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer on my lung. I don't know how long I've got but I'm hoping for a couple of years. I have no dependants and my estate will go to my family parents/sibling. I am 49.
I've always been a good moneysaving girl but now my priorities have changed as my mortgage etc will get paid off when I die. I want the money now so I can enjoy myself & travel.
I've thought of getting a break from mortgage payments as a starter but have you any other suggestions that would release funds now that will get paid off when I die.
I don't want to go down the equity release of my home just yet.
In fact you are probably too young for equity release but certainly a payment holiday would help meantime. As someone else said go and speak to an IFA but do make sure they are truly independent and not tied to a building society or insurance company. In other words don't go and see the company who hold your mortgage.
Most IFA's will give you a free appointment to establish your needs and are obliged to tell you at the onset if they will work on a fee basis or a commission basis. Also check and see if you have critical illness included in any of your insurance.
Good luck.0 -
If it was me I would live life to the full, enjoy your time you have hopefully it will be long with your family and friend, go for that holiday you always wanted
I wish you the very best[FONT=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica][SIZE=+2]
