The actual destination account holder name for the payment was displayed as <Forename> <space <Surname>.So I cancelled and tried again. This time left out any middle name or middle name initial. i.e. <Forename> <space> <Surname>.This time the COP system indicated an exact match (a green 'tick' symbol) with no warning message. In other words the COP system appears to ignore the any middle name or middle name initial when matching the destination account holder. This may be related to the way COP works or it may be that Cahoot themselves ignore any middle name given when the account is first set up (apart from when sending out letters).I assume the matching system in case insensitive and ignores white spaces.
I am not sure what would happen if I gave an incorrect middle name or middle name initial. I wonder if the new payee setup would be rejected or would any subsequent payment be rejected?Anyway I have managed to transfer a £1 test amount.
So when Cahoot (or any others) ask when setting up a first payment it's first and surname, accepted straight off.
I've ditched Lloyds a while ago (switched) I never really got on with there transaction stuff, also fell foul of their security once and had to get my account unlocked, I became a bit wary of them since.0
