Cahoot

Anyone know why they don't have an app?.

Seems nuts to me they don't seeing as Santander do.

As with the Santander site the Cahoot one doesn't work properly on my Google Pixel 7 pro phone, frequently have to relogin etc.

Don't currently have a working laptop so 😌

Cahoot don't seem to be on social media either 😌

I was under the impression that this is an unloved and neglected minor part of Santander's family, being left to decline slowly into oblivion, so it's not a surprise that it's not warranting investment in technology.

Are any of their products competitive?

I heard Cahoot have a nice 5.2% easy access account.

I'm a bit confused/surprised because co op have an app along with their smile counterpart, HSBC have an app along with their First Direct counterpart.

Does take a while for the login details to arrive but once received everything seems pretty good on their site. Nice fast payments both ways too.

Cahoot have or have had several competitive products - I have their Issue 2 Simple Saver (currently on Iss3) which pays 5.12% AER/5% monthly (on max £500k), there's still the Sunny Day Saver at 5.2% for up to £3k.  A big tick in the plus column for me is that they give 60 days notice before rate drops.

I moved some of my Santader EA money to them recently and did that on my phone with the Cahoot site open on my PC and as I looked up from the phone from making the transaction, it was already there in my Simple Saver, didn't even need to refresh the screen.  I get the same speed from other banks too, not just sideways from Santander.

I appreciate it’s a tad painful to have to use online banking but I’d rather they continue to pay 5.2% on their EA savings account than spending money creating an app.

Takes a couple of weeks to get set up. Currently only the sunny day account is tempting and is limited to £3k. Whether it's worth the bother depends on the individual.

You can take out both a joint and an individual Sunny Day account so £6k is possible.

Do new account holders (sunny day saver) fund the account before they receive log in details?
