Unfortunately, the meter isn't yours and you don't have any personal choice in the matter.kb1956 said:1 -
That is not a reason, neither is it an option.kb1956 said:

kb1956 said:Sure, fair comment, but it would be interesting to know why you made that choice if you are prepared to share those reasons here?Although as you'll have gathered from reading these forums that most folks here are in favour of smart meters, there are still people choosing not to have a smart meter because of, for example, the effort involved in changing or because they want to keep an exisiting tarriff or metering arrangements. Those reasons don't exist here as the smart meter is already in place, which makes your question intriguing. So what are your reasons for making that choice?1

Just embrace it and do some research into cheaper smart meter tariffs. Then enjoy the savings.2

Basically you buy own meter and have a professional come and replace the existing meter. Lots of people now replacing meters giving very good advice.kb1956 said:I will soon be moving into a new property (privately owned) that has a smart meter. I do not want it so how do I go about having it removed and changed to a conventional meter? TIA
